Aww, shame. It really is a very nice place. My girls are living in Brighton and Liverpool and have travelled widely - they still rate Cardiff as the best shopping and nightlife of all

Yes, Avalon. I went there a few years ago but it was a bit shabby

you get drugs and shady characters everywhere BS, they're not exclusive to riverside (which is where you were staying IIRC).

what racist material? im either yet to see it, or i dont find it offensive. are you referring to the "i support 2 teams: wales, and whoever beats the english" tshirts etc? because in my experience of this diverse and friendly city, thats as 'racist' as it gets

well plenty, otherwise it would never have been chosen as the location for DW. the city is currently undergoinging a massive period of investment, renenwal and regeneration. in spite of being one of europes biggest building sites (i believe im correct in saying berlin is the only other european city with more construction/regeneration currently under way than cardiff) tourists flock here daily in their droves. so me must have something that appeals to someone, even if it isnt your cup of tea. to dismiss cardiff so completely out of hand because of one bad experience is a bit unfair, dont you think?

Aha, I see.

Riverside is outside of the city centre and it is rough.
It's a pity you didn't stay centrally to see the best of it.

The racist material I'm on about is things that say if you take an English flag and wash the !!!!!! out of it you get the welsh flag. And pictures for sale of Bart Simpson weeing on the English flag. And mugs in the gift shop opposite the castle with a verse on it about keeping the English out of wales (fair enough, I won't be going back). It's like they want the tourists but they don't want to have to talk to them and be civil to them once they are there. And I've been out at night many a time in my local town but not once been offered drugs on the street like I was 3 times on a 3 night stay in Cardiff.

It was a 10 minute walk from the centre

to get slightly more on topic, i think you should have a hot stone massage AB, then you can tell me what its like so i'll know whether i want to get one or not

although that said, ive always wanted to go to one of these health spas and be pampered for the day, so anything would be fine by me (did i mention you were adopting me as your fourth daugther? im a welshie, and im from the land of the mint green pier, so i'll fit right in with your other three :rotfl: )
