Hi all, good to see everyone with this fighting spirit for the new year. I was part of last years challenge but fell away as the group did split a bit. I bought christmas stock this time last year and sold it from sep- to dec. I did make about 75% profit on my investment but it took some effort selling on ebay and doing car boots but it was worth it in the end and i got a sense of achievement that i took a risk in january held the stock and made a profit at the end of the year. I am interested in buying and selling so will be looking for an opportunity again.

Rictus- i also look for the wholesale opportunity over the internet but it seems to be difficult to get something genuine and good quality but you can keep me posted.

I would sell too, unless it really means something to you? Do you have a goal why you've entered this challenge? Does the goal mean more to you or the sovereign? In the end people and experieinces are what are important, objects don't even come close!

Thanks LegalBlonde and determined new ms! When you put it like that yes my goal is more important to me, my main reason for doing the challenge is to save money towards a deposit for a house and also a lovely holiday this year. And I completely agree that people and experiences are worth much more than "stuff" :T
So I will get some photos done and get it on ebay

Am doing a bit more bulk cooking today, should have the freezer full in no time!!

I've always wanted a hobby and this is right up my street doing this challenge, I love reading the thread and think that everyone is brilliantly supportive. Thanks guys! :D

    Hi Everyone
All quiet here on the money raising front but I just checked my bank account and I have some interest and a pinecone payment to add so I'm up to £18.19 - small steps!

Also following Lea123e's advice and I'm doing some home cooking. I won't count saving from cooking but could I draw your attention to Approved foods http://www.approvedfood.co.uk/ it saved me a lot of money in 2010. Good for packed lunches and snacky food - there's also a thread somewhere on the site.

All the best and good luck to anyone returning to work tomorrow.

    Hi everyone

could I join please. I counted my change pot this morning and I've got £11.11 in it, so off to some kind of start, may it be a bit slow. I have also just printed off a label to post off a cartridge for recycling which is for £3.35 so every little helps. Can someone please tell me as I havent done this before, can we count things like nectar or boots points? for instance, I know that my hair will need coloured soon but I'm being frugal and not getting it done at hairdressers, will do it myself, so I will buy it at boots which should cost me around £9.95, but I know that I've got points on my advantage card that would cover this, so could I buy the colour with my boots points and count the £9.95 as part of my savings?
Too much month, not enough Cash!

Could anyone please explain the double your money/snowball theory to me and how this would be achieved? Or point me in the right direction, sounds intriguing :)

Im in need of some advice. Just had the biggest shock of my life. My husbands parents have just told him we can move in to their to save some money! Ill fill you all in on the background - I live with hubby in a 2 bed flat renting - £475 a month!!! Husbands parents live in a 3 bed house with no kids anymore and have said they will knock the wall through so there is one big room and we can live there for £30 rent a week! Husband is all for it as he thinks we make £600 extra savings a month! and techniqually be in a house quicker than if we didnt!

Oh husband is all for this!

My husbands mum has not always been the nicest person to me and it took a while for me to learn to ignore her!
Please help - tell me what u think I should do?

afternoon all. everyones doing so well so far. I've made a decent start so far, although not a £400 start. Played free bingo yesterday and cashed out £50 so my total is now standing at £90 and i still have managed to somehow leave myself loads of bonuses to play through. also got free bingo going in OH name so fingers crossed for that. Costabingo is worth looking at, deposit £10 and they give you a £20 bonus, plus you can play in a room with a guarenteed £20 bonus no matter how many players so if theres only 6 on like this morning its pretty easy to win, this room only lasts for 24hours though but if you get to the £30 withdrawel or more its all free cash. (just all dont jump on at once or no one will win lol)
back to comping in 2017, fingers crossed

    Hi Cmills

To be honest although the savings sounds great this doesn't sound like the best move for you but that is just my opinion. I wouldn't go for it even though I get on really well with my in-laws.

Have gone on holiday with my parents and his and find a fortnight is long enough ;)

Good luck in what you decide

    Ouch, tricky one!

TBH no amount of money would be incentive enough for me to give up my independance! Each to their own though...

Work out how long it would need to be for. Would you both be absolutely committed to saving ALL the excess and not slipping into feeling better off and spending some? Try to work out what ground rules would make it acceptable (for them as well as you!) as all 4 of you would be making a big compromise
Whatever your history that is a very generous offer. Try to find out as much as you can before making a decision either way
