  • I have quite a bit to ebay but only managed to list 6 items last night, the whole process takes ages doesn't it :)

I have stuff to go onto eBay but I didn't know whether to list it or not as I thought that January probably wouldn't be a good month with everyone recovering (financially) from Christmas. I stuff selling on there? :D

    Hi All

Gosh I can't believe how quickly this thread is moving! I just wanted to post a big thank you for Betmunch's MB website which has managed to get OH MBing off the ground again.

Have also posted 2 old broken phones off today only worth £4.00 plus £1.50 referral but still better than just chucking them;)

Last day off before going back to work tomorrow so would like to look for more items to list on ebay.

Also not counting the savings but joining this and looking at the frugal living thread meant I didn't have massive spend for New Years Eve Party, even used left over carrots to make home made carrot soup definatly a big step forward for this girl:rotfl:

    Thanks for the Feedback

Also, dont forget, many of the bookies are partner friendly which means you AND the other half can claim bonuses from them, even if you live at the same address.

I have a column which points out which ones, but as ever, all ways read the T&C's to be sure.

Please keep an eye on the site today as, baby allowing, I will be updating a few bits

And if anyone else is considering starting please do not hesitate to PM me for advice or the web address.

    Cheers

I forgot! After switching current accounts I had £70 left in the old one, straight in the pot with you!
Have a dilemma. I won a gold sovereign in 1994, limited edition 22k gold.......had a look and they are worth £250-£300. Do I sell it or save it as an heirloom!??

I would sell too, unless it really means something to you? Do you have a goal why you've entered this challenge? Does the goal mean more to you or the sovereign? In the end people and experieinces are what are important, objects don't even come close!

Managed to find an extra £50 to put in the savings pot yesterday and added up £2s/£1s & pennies & made £14 so that makes my total £74 :D

Ok I'm jumping in again - last eyar motivated me to get a crappy part time job but its all extra income - i didn't keep track but we had a fairly good year .

this year it has to be more serious for me - my brother is expecting his first baby in May and I need to go and visit fairly soon afterwards ( as opposed to the 3 years time i was planning) he lives in Canada and there are 5 of us so its not cheap but thats my aim .

I have no idea how I am going to do it - but I have a pile of stuff for ebay to get me started .
    I am journeying to a debt-free life.
Our estimated debt-free date is January 2040. I'm on a mission to bring that date closer!

Well done everyone, some very good starts!:D

Time for a quick update. My total stands at just over £400:j This has been a couple of competition wins which will be used in 2011, quidco, xmas vouchers I have decided to use for food:Arather than treats, penny jar and a sale price on something for OH. As we already have the money put aside, it will count as 'extra' funds as we can now save it instead

Will get much trickier from now on I suspect. Have lots to ebay but am going to wait a couple of months for some of it as its seasonal.

Hmmm. Will put thinking cap on

I've got 20 items on there and 6 have bids already, only put them on last night and any other time I have put a batch of stuff on it has taken a few days to get any bids at all.

I think it is probably a combination of more people being off work and at home, and also alot of people (many MSE people) know that others will put unwanted gifts on/will want to raise funds so they will be looking for bargains! I hope so anyway:rotfl:

Hi guys well here goes i have had 2 nsd but have to go out today to fill up the car and get some shopping ,have just had a look through cupboards and fridge before i go ,going to meal plan as i am doing the frugal challenge to make money towards this .if i stick to the budget on a weekly basis off £100 i will save £50 a week on takeaways and unwanted items . i throw out so much food that i could feed my sisters kids so this is going to be one of my things .this will give me hopefully £2600 towards this and any change from my £100 a week will go into the sealed challenge .Think this will be harder with the vat rising but going to try good old housekeeping and also pocket money for kids on a friday .
I have a letter to send today to ombusman re bank official complaint was made in august and they still have not sorted it so going to post this today . so might get some money there.
I am going to check out my tax code see if i'm on the right one, hopefully a bit more .
I have a radley bag and a links of london that i am going to sell don't use however this is going to open a new account for matched betting a bit scared but going for it .
lastly i have a load of costume jewellery items and jewellery boxes ect so going to sort out displays for them and sell at bootsale,if this doesnt work i will start using them as gifts either way i save .
Best thing i did last year was local ebay brgain finder regularly picked up kids bikes ,rocking horses, paintings for 99P and sold for £10 covering the table cost so everything else was profit .
i also freecycle a lot now but not to sell on however have been thinking about furniture restoration so will see picked up an old fashioned telephone table that is waiting to be stripped and painted .
thats the plan happy newyear and good luck to all new and old
So finally debt free and it feels amazing however continuing here to stay debt free.Next declutter house and body and finally swim under that waterfall x

I've never done this before but £11k would wipe off a load of debts so here I am.
Started last night by entering a ton of competitions over on the competition thread - I don't normally win things but has to worth a try. Also discovered a pot of change which is going to be my first amount in the savings pot. Will add it up later and post total.
Do people think January is a good ebay time? I do have some stuff to sell but wondered if anyone has any money left?!!
