No, I didn't resolve the issue, i'm still fuming about it all!!!
I work for first direct and have previously worked for Santander.
Any information I give should not been seen as being given from first direct or Santander however I do have certain knowledge from working there.

Thank you, Chrissy

Yes, that's the attitude you get. The tone is 'well what do you expect, we've corrected it now'?

I didn't want all the hassle, that's why we are complaining. It's easy and you messed up. Give me something in return for wasting my time.:(
• Its going to be interesting next December when we are all looking to change from EDF to see how they handle the transfer to another company
• My gas DD has been set up to almost equally ludicrous £11/mth. I'll try your method of successful contact, macman, cheers.

I'll request they change the 'on hold' music to a much more ironic song by one of their fellow countrwomen, Edith Piaf's 'je ne regrette rien' :D

My Direct debit should have been just over £80 for gas & electric, but I noticed on my account that it was going to be £68 :o

I ring to sort this, which I was assured that at the start of February £80 would be leaving my account.

I didnt hold out much hope, and at the start of February £68 was taken

E-mails sent to CustomerServicesDirector@edfenergy.com & customer_correspondence@edfenergy.com on a Sunday (using both gets the best response I find) resulted in a phone call to me on Monday.

It looks like it is sorted now and my DD is showing as £80 :T

Plus as a goodwill gesture £12 was credited to my account to make up for the shortfall on my first DD that was the wrong ammount :T

So hopefully my problems are over now, just need official confirmation as to what is happening to the online saver 7 tarif when the prices go up in March ;)

Well this is good. Elec is fine, but SP AND EDF think they're supplying gas. Transco says EDF. And I can't give anyone a meter reading for the gas.

If you want to avoid the muzak, I've found that contacting EDF via the My Account messaging system does work. My gas DD was initially set to a ludicrous £6pm. I requested that this be reset to £35pm via the messaging system and within 3 days I had an emailed response and the DD was changed.
Of course this is assuming that you've been able to register for My Account in the first place.
However, 3 weeks after going on supply and submitting opening readings online, the system still tells me that it's awaiting my opening reading, so not quite there yet it seems...

It didn't for me... I'll give it another few days, but I have no idea what's going on.

I switched on 1st Dec. Got the letters in saying they'd take over I think 7th Jan and that they would contact me again about taking opening readings etc. I'm still waiting... I've now had an estimated bill from Scottish Gas, who I've also heard nothing from about the switch.

I managed to log into my account where these is another letter sitting in messages (same as I had in the post) but with a date in Feb for switching. There are also messages saying they're starting the DD's on the 22nd.

So as I said, I have no flipping idea what's going on and have messaged them such but with no answer.

I really don't want to have to phone but it looks like it may come to that....

My account looks to be set up and first DD (silly amount) middle of this month (Valentines Day)!!!and thereafter beginning of month.
But they have asked for a new meter reading so that probably will be a ridiculously high amount based on all winter use.
Am already looking for the next offer.
• Received an email today from edf asking to confirm my email address so I will be able to activate my on-line account .Once confirmed they said I will be able to go on-line to my account but as I have no account number yet unable to do so

As did I today. It looked very suspicious, asking someone via email to confirm their email address. Shame on you EDF.
I thought it was some kind of scam.
Turned out to be ok (I hope).

Today i checked my online EDF account and I have a credit of £100 showing, is this the bonus payment ?

I thought we would get £100 deposited into our banks via the DD we setup up with them ??

Anyone had the £100 bonus this way ??
