i'm gonna call them on monday and see if Mr LT and i can visit the house on wednesday when we're both hopefully off work. I'm hoping he likes it as much as me and can see past the terrible decor and the need for a kitchen and replacement bathroom :)

So it's ready to move into then..? ;)

If you do get it LT, you'll have to post before and after pics

if we do there will be hundreds of photo's, it will be a wonderful scrapbooking opportunity and i'll have to make good use of my future craft room lol
been doing a scout around in the internet and i think we should be able to get a mortgage. We could possibly even borrow more but i'd still rather aim for a dooerupper rather than a brand new house

    Hello Lemon
Been lurking and popping in now and again. First of all congratulations on how well you have done. Only 6 little faces left!

You sound very exited about your prospective new home. You must be so proud of yourself to get to this point. :)

You will be able to turn it into the house of your dreams.

    Take care

thank you, i have a feeling if we do get a house then it may end up with more little faces but it will be worth it. It certainly feels good to know that we can get a mortgage for somewhere bigger and not have lots of amounts that the mortgage company will round up and take off our salaries to work out how much we can borrow.
  • I'm excited for you! This is where I plan to be in 2 years time when I have paid all bar the mortgage (optimistic but a girl's got to dream!). Looking round houses is so much fun, getting a doerupper more so, it's taken us 7 years to get ours almost done (total of one socket upstairs, in wiring my electrician -of 20odd years- hubby had never used says the state it was in) but then I'm married to a tradesman so nothing ever gets finished in our house, however I keep visiting people who have lovely places to show for his hard work! Take loads and loads of piccies from all angles in and out, it's so much fun to see it evolve!

i'm excited and scared in equal orders lol
now have an uber busy day off planned this week, valuation, viewing, mortgage advisors, financial advisors. We'll be glad to get back to work for a day off!
I wish my OH was a tradesman, but he's not. I'm suspecting i'll have to do most of the planning and organising but we'll end up having to pay someone to fit things for us or do electrics where necessary. I can at least strip wall paper which would come in VERY handy if by some luck we ended up with the house i like.

Suppose I shouldn't complaing when the only thing he doesn't do is the plastering, has saved us a fortune but it would be nice to have just one room finished! I hope you get your dream house, I love to see people matched with the perfect 'home'.

I can recommend cheap NW based tradesmen, but the travelling time might stack up for non locals!!! :rotfl:
