Urgent help needed with ebay

Get the Buyer and Seller on Judge Judy, I want to see the outcome on this one.
The listing was not a work of art, nor was the ring.0 -
You are allowed a lot of margin in listings and you are right buyers must be aware of their responsibility to ask questions. But you go too far if you think you can list an illusion ring and not state the fact but instead imply it is something else.
If the listing is the one without a postal cost so the buyer cannot automatically send PayPal payment then yes I have seen it.
I do not follow what you mean about the hallmarks a previous post in this thread suggested DIA did not mean diamond.
Maybe the seller didn't know it was an illusion ring. That doesn't mean they are withholding information on purpose.
Like I said, I don't know all about my engagement ring other than it's gold, it's a diamond, and it's lovely, so if I were to sell it, my description would be vague(ish) too!Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -
Does anyone have a link to the auction to look at?

If something looks to good to be true...then it normally is.
Your only options are:
1) Open a case by using the Resolution center or contacting customer support....from ebay site:
If you didn’t pay with PayPal.
In the event you didn’t use PayPal to pay for the item and you can’t work things out with the seller, tell us by going to the Resolution Centre or contacting Customer Support. We’ll get in touch with the seller to try and sort things out for you.
You can report her for not accepting paypal when it was on her listing as well (this might be your saving grace as ebay doesnt like this)
2) after the ebay approach take it to small claims court, this costs so you would need to apply for costs to be taken off of the seller if you win, if you state that this is what you are going to do to the seller she may just give in and agree on a refund.
3) leave negative feedback, put it down to experience, sell it on yourself and save again for another ring
Remember always use paypal (unless it is a pick up only) if they dont take paypal run a mile. Ask questions especially if it is a important buy, ask for more photos, ask for measurements - if they are genuine they will not mind questions.
When you said you had a small budget I was thinking £50!
I have been married 4 years and still dont have a ring (just a wedding ring) I would love £200 to spend on a ring!
dont get a ring just to please other people, if they say where the ring, say you haven't found the "right" one yet
Does it have to be real diamond? Why dont you get a CZ one for now and then plan once you are married to get the same ring but with a real diamond - no one will know (providing you dont have a massive rock!)
Good luck, dont let it spoil anything, your commitment to each other is what matters! BIG Thank you to Competition posters & the person who created the "entered" button!

I googled before and 950 meant Platinum on various sites I looked at.
DIA stood for Diamond too.
And why say are they are blind? If I'd seen a close up of the ring, I wouldn't have thought straight away "oh it's an illusion ring", I would have just thought it was a small diamond in a big mount, which it is.Tank fly boss walk jam nitty gritty...0 -

The seller did not even say it was a small diamond in a big mount. By definition an illusion ring is meant to mislead. By not describing the ring in enough detail to correct this the listing itself becomes misleading.
My feeling is that DIA does not stand for diamond because hallmarks are for metal - but I do not know.
I also used Google earlier and found information suggesting it did but the source was a poor one and I ignored it.
Have a look at Item number: 190477783635 on ebay. This states as also posted above Full UK assay office hallmark 950 Dia (= Palladium). However in looking around I think whether the ring is Platinum or Palladium seems to depend on the shape of the 950 hallmark and is not related to Dia but I am somewhat confused by the lack of clear information in this area.
Reference to confirm what I state above about shape of Platinum and Palladium hallmarks (it remains unclear what DIA stands for):

If DIA does stand for diamond it is not a hallmark but something else - little and conflicting information found on this all from poor sources: most but not all state it stands for diamond. I would still phone the Assay office and ask if it is a valid hallmark or not.0 -

Dia does mean diamond, sometimes it also gives the carat weight of the diamond, eg dia .5 would be half a carat. if the seller has described the diamond as very bright and sparkly, and its not, thats what you can do the significantly not as described under. I got my wedding ring, engagement ring, and eternity ring all second hand off shops from ebay, there's nothing wrong in that, but you have to know what you're buying. Goog luck.0
