Morning all,
Hugs to Valli and Mumof2 - sounds like you need them.
Happy birthday to onestep - hope you have a lovely day.
Congratulations to soappie on the new job and the first eggs.
Well dinner last night was a resounding success. Everyone enjoyed all of the courses. I was working yesterday morning, so had left Moon instructions to clean up when I was gone - he was good and did do most of the laundry, but a lot of the tidying was done when I got home, as he hadn't realised the friends were coming last night - he thought it was today. I spent most of the afternoon cooking and flying (dusting the bedroom, putting washing away, cleaning the kitchen etc). Everything was going well, until I decided to cut the bread for the bread and butter pudding whilst it was still frozen - I slipped, and took a huge chunk out of my middle finger (it was a serated knife too, so a jagged cut right up to the cuticle). Luckily I managed to grab some kitchen roll before the blood poured everywhere, and Moon rushed in with the plasters. Was a bit worried that it was going to be an A&E job, but luckily the bleeding stopped a bit. Moon finished off the dessert under my instruction, and we were ready just in time for the guests' arrival. Have sent them an email with the links to the recipes as they were requested, and they want the MIL to make them for their Christmas dinner.
I'm off the hairdresser this morning (9am appointment) for a bit of me time, so I'd better go and get dressed.
Hugs to tootles, and LadyL.

Morning all
First day on here since about Tues I think, so having a VERY quick skim. Been busy trying to dig car out/get food/get to work and school so not much spare time. Stoopid neighbours deliberately parked their car opposite our drive which has made it nigh on impossible to get our car out safely.
Hoping this lot of ice clears before the next lot decends  we had no gritters or buses round for 10 days or more so everywhere is now pack ice and still a single track round the main estate road (bus route) in places. Have phoned/emailed the council and Dad has been onto the MP.
Hope all are well and safe.Official Mascot and Chief Cheerleader for the 'Mortgage Free in Three' Gang0 -
Mumof2 - I really feel for you. You tried so hard. Jo-Jo is right, it's a sign of the money squeezing times. Stay cheerful and concentrate on the magic of Christmas, you will come through this.
Valli - Boys don't know their own strength. I have a broken footless footstall for similar reasons. Hope your insurance will pay out.
Need to make little ones breakfast and take some tea up to DH (he's had a hard week and is sleeping in).
Whole family is going to be roped into a tidying hour as this house is a mess. DH is fully supportive and the minors will do as he says. I, of course, am ingnored when I ask for help:cool:
Onestep Happy Birthday0 -
Happy birthday Onestep!
Valli, sending you big hugs - hopefully you can get it under the insurance.
Pigpen, your DS sounds a real handful! Well done on the knitting; I've dug out my needles again and am making DD a doll, DS wants a dinosaur after that which should be interesting !
Sexymouse, I cut my finger like that a few months ago so can sympathise. I kept opening it up accidentally for about 10 days after so mind how you go.
Juliejim, enjoy the Beavers party - 100 of them, wow! DD has just finished there and moved up to Cubs the week before last and seems to be enjoying it.
Helenjelly, yes DH will just have to get used to the idea. So sorry to hear about your Dad being ill - big hugs right back at you too (((hugs))).
DH still asleep; I foolishly let DS climb into our bed at 6.25 this morning - I misread the clock and thought it was 6.55 so I didn't get any more sleep as DS fidgets/was coughing etc so I lay there thinking why am I so tired but not able to sleep. Got up 15 mins ago, will grab a cup of tea and sort breakfast. Up to church this am to help decorate the Christmas tree, then going to do ours, get cards and paper down from the loft and really get organised - well that's the plan anyhow.
Have a good day everyone and thanks for the support yesterday.Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
I've done some ironing, cleared and cleaned the top of the fridge and freezer and cleared and cleaned behind and underneath the freezer. Unfortunately I haven't progressed to the ironing in the LR yet as I've ironed what was in the TD and on top of the freezer!
Just eating a bowl of Frosties and then I'll carry on.NST #10 Steps 7K 2/30 10K 2/12 5 a day 3/30 NSD 0/20
