  • I have now cancelled the £5 life cover with Payplan so that will now go towards my debt repayments. It's a small amount but it will still help.

I have found a credit card which I have never used since opening last year. I applied for it and hid it in a draw just in case there was ever some kind of disaster.

I have made the payment of £900 to Moorcroft using the card and once the money from my savings account has hit my current account I will pay the card off straight away. I hope this will happen by Thursday the latest.

I have forgotten how pushy these creditor can be on the phone. They really try to make you feel bad. Nevermind, they will be out of my life for ever soon.

Once I get this sorted and pay my sister back I will be able to concentrate on repaying B'card visa. I've decided not to sweat the small stuff with this interest thing.

    New goals for me.

1 Clear Moorcroft account £900 paid £1100 to go
2 Repay my sister £1100 by October
3 Get total debt down to £10k by 31st December 2011
4 Clear b'card by June 2012 and not pay any more than £180.58 in interest charges.
    Smile loan - £2821.98 / £0:)
    Lloyds CC - £3102.54 / £3071.51
    B'Card - £7615.65 / £7444.30
    Bank of mom - £6000 / £6000
    28/02/17 £ 19,540.17 / £16515.81 05/04/17
  • Another quick update.
£1100 has now been paid to moorcroft and the remaining £1180.58 will be written off...woo hoo:j

I will now repay my sister £1100 first over the next 6 weeks, she has kindly said there is no rush but I would prefer to repay her first just in case she needs it.

I now only have 2 credit card debts

    B'card visa £5644.27
    Egg £5894.14
    Total £11538.41

I now need to ask Payplan to reschedule my Moorcroft repayments to the remaining credit cards.

Payday was on Wednesday so £60 transferred to savings account.
It now looks more likely I will be able to reach my £10k target by the end of this year even with B'card interest now being added. I didn't think this would have been possible 2 weeks ago but things have changed very quickly.

My debt free date is now 31/12/12 so I only have 16 more paydays
    to go.

I've got a few things I need to sort out today so I may have to make a list.

  • Life has been up and down this last month. I have been up when it was my birthday and have felt down and depressed on other days.

CC debt update as of 6/10/11
    B'card Visa £5591.72
    Egg card - £5831.97
    Total £11423.69

    Debt Reduced by £114.72
Interest charged from B'card visa £15.28 (hiss booo)

Sister loan £600 left to pay.

It doesn't look like I have reduced by much but I did repay my sister £500. I am hoping to pay something again this month it may not be £500 but I hope it is no less than £350.

  • £15.28 sent to B'card to cover the interest they added last month.

It has been the worst month for debt repayment as I have had so much expenses. I feel like I can't get back on track.

I am gutted that I haven't made my normal £500 overpayment this month which means I may not hit my £10k target in December. I don't want to beat myself up about it too much as I should hit the £10k in January (fingers crossed)

I have renewed my phone contract so still £10.21 a month for the next 12 months.

Payday is not until next Monday but I will have a few school trips to pay for. I am praying I can curb this spending spree for November

It looks liked I will not hit my 10k target by the end of this year. I didn't get to make my £500 overpayments for the last 2 months due to Weddings and all kinds.

Never mind, it should take about 2 months to get there.

I have repaid my sister £400, so now I only own her £200. I am not sure if I can pay this by the end of the year but I will give it a good try.

I am now preparing for 2012 which I hope will be my debt free year or there abouts.

I have been to Makro and stocked up on
    - Toilet paper 24 pack by one get one free £21.00
    - 5L Surf liquidgel X4 £33.96
    - Fairy fabric conditioner 5l £ £21.96
    - Fairy washing up liquid 5l £5.99
    - Plenty kitchen towel (10 in a pack) BOGOF £21.38

    Total cost before discounts £104.29
    Discount £38.20
    Net total £66.09
    Plus vat £13.22
    Total cost £79.31.

I know this seems a lot but all of this should last me about 8 months.

Christmas shopping - Spent £53.96 for ds2 - presents are now wrapped and under the tree. I now only have to buy for OH and that's it (I hope.)

  • Happy New Year:j

I have had a good Christmas and New year until I tried to go home in the early house of New years day. First problem of the year the started and wouldn't move.
Luckly I was at my mom's so I had to leave my car at my moms and borrow her car instead. Luckly my oh and his dad has now fixed it and now I have it back. This didn't cost me anything to repair but I had to collect the kids from school via the train so £4 spent on train fares and £1.87 in the shop.

If having car trouble wasn't enough had another problem with a couple of tiles falling off the roof due to the high winds. I have had a quote today and this will cost me £120 to repair. I am now waiting for the 3rd nightmare to happen as I am sure they come in three's.

Never mind I can't do anything about it now so I just have to get on with it.

Think January will be a hard month moneywise, I can't see me clearing as much as I would like to.

Right off to collect ds1 from football, fingers crossed nothing will go wrong.

    Hi I'm back.:D

I can't believe I haven't updated in 4 months. I have still been lurking around all over the place, but have kind of lost my own way.

Anyway, a lot has happened since January.
Got rid of the old car
Was given a new (2nd hand car) much nicer, the other one was on it's last legs.
I have just had my landing, stairs and hallway carpet replaced for free. Love it. The old carpet was 11 years old, cream and turning black. I hated opening the front door to anyone I was so embarrassed of how it looked.

I have not been on a big money saving thing for the last few months so I haven't cleared very much at all.:o

I checked my credit file last Tuesday to find that my last default from Egg has now dropped off and is no longer showing at all on my credit file. I am still repaying this to Barclaycard now but it is no where to be seen.

Unfortunately, B'card/ Moorcroft registered a default last September when I cleared the debt as a full and final. I kept getting letters chasing the remainder £1180 but every time I called them to say it was a full and final they said sorry and sent a letter to say the account was settled.

For some unknown reason they still register a default 4 weeks after I cleared it and didn't send me any default notice. I
decided not to get mad this time and have now got this removed. I will check my credit file in a months time just to be on the safe side.

So I am now default free:D and only have the one B'card debt showing on my credit file. I still have my old credit file from 2005 and it didn't look pretty at all. I am happy to say I have very much learnt my lesson now.

I still haven't got my debt under £10k. I have been slacking a lot:(

    Current debts
    Barclaycard Visa £5247.31
    Egg card£5458.95
    Total debts £10706.26
And that is it. I do not own anything to any family members:j

My Egg card is now with Barclays and I am a little worried that they will start charging me interest on that balance so I really need to get a move on and clear them both as quickly as possible.

My target now is B'card visa . I am not going to put a target date on clearing this other than as soon as I can. I would love to make small payments when I can on top of my monthly payment but I have a feeling they will then raise the interest charges on this and increase the min payment. I really think I should just chance it and go ahead and make the extra payments when I can instead of saving for months and making one lump payment. Seeing the balance go down every month will motivate me much more.

    I think I need a plan

Spend for yesterday was £16.71. This included £11.91 for a game for ds2. He had saved £38 towards it himself and has been waiting to purchase it for so long I decided to pay for the first. It was worth seeing the smile on his face :)

Ds2 has a birthday party to go to. I would have preferred to have bought a present but his friend is saving up for something, so we will put £10 in a card for him.

I think I will be going over my £100 budget for this week, I will have to try and redeem myself somehow.

Kids are off school today, I am not sure why their school closes for voting day. We will all go and vote later this morning.
