  • Saturday spends £1.91
Sunday spends £20 Diesel in the car

I worked on Saturday night and didn't get in until 3am on Sunday. I am not sure how much I will get from that but I think I will save it to buy the kids school shoes.

Had £10 left in my purse for the week. I am not sure how I manged that.
Transfered £17.91 into the savings fund.
Have taken out £70 for this week. I am hoping for it to last as long as possible. I still need to do my weekly shopping.

I have had a letter to say that my free work shares have been sold. I will get £312.30 deposited into my bank. I am hoping it will be within the next few days. I would have been gutted if I waited to sell them this week because I would have only got just over £250 which would only just cover the car tax.

The BT line rental saver is £120 so I will only need to pay £17.70 towards it. I can't log into my account and I really need to check when it is up.

Hoping for a no spend day today.

  • My arm is still hurting from falling over on Friday. It hurts just below my elbow so I can't rest my arm on anything and it hurts more when trying to sleep.

I don't know how I managed to scrap my skin off. I only fell over once and this happend. The kids fell over loads of times and nothing happend to them. I think I need them to teach me how to fall over properly without hurting myself.:o

  • NSD yesterday, checked online bank and have now received the money from the sale of my shares. This all seems irrelevant right now.

I am so sad to see what has been happening in London and around other towns. I feel really sorry for all those families who have lost their homes and shops which have been raided and destroyed. There is just no excuse for this kind of behaviour.

I also feel sorry for the police, it's is like they can't do anything about it. These police officers also have families who would be worried about them.

I can't even comment on the government, thinking they could control this by keeping in touch over the telephone and being kept informed. They must have thought it would have died down.

How can Theresa May still think it is ok to cut the police numbers. Is she for real? I guess it's not happening around her house.

I really hope this does not continue tonight and no one gets killed. No country is safe anymore not even us:(

  • Decided to transfer the £312.30 into the offset mortgage pot as I will not need to use it until the end of the month. Thought I might as well use it to help reduce the interest for this month.

I have so far spent £36.91 this week and now have £33.09 in my purse to last until Sunday. I am hoping to save at least £15 of this.

Nothing else to report. I am back at work today so should be a nsd unless I can get out to buy some dusbin bags.

  • Just as I thought things were going well something had to happen.
I will start with the positive
I was doing really well trying not to overspend too much this month. Kids school uniform has been brought including their school shoes which cost me £87:eek: I don't know why I have to pick the ones from the most expensive range.
I have been trying to put money into the savings pot so that I could pay off my Mastercard in one go. So far I have £941 and just need £59 to make my August target.

I have been working from home for 6 years now and really want to get back into the office. The company I work for is building a brand new call centre very near to where I live. For months now I have been wishing I could work there but didn't think I could get the hours I wanted. About a month ago in our local paper there were details of 450 new jobs on offer in this new call centre. I bought the paper but then did nothing about it. Then last week someone asked me if there were any jobs going at my company. I told her about this new call centre and text her the website address.(For some reason I still kept the newspaper on my desk.)
It was only then I decided to look at the website myself. They were offering part-time jobs 20 hours a week over 5 days. This is just what I would like to do. I have now applied for this job and just waiting to see if I get a telephone interview.
For the last few days I have been looking at retaking my Maths GCSE. I only got a grade D 15 years ago and would love to improve on this. So far it has been looking as though it will cost me about £300.

So, I have been on a high since last week until.....

  • Yesterday I got a letter from Barclaycard about my visa card. I have been on a dmp for the last 5 years. I have been very lucky so far because they stopped adding interest and my balance has now come down to £5644.27.

They have now reviewed my account and I will be paying 0.25% interest a month. I know it doesn't sound a lot but this will slow things down a little. My payments have been increasing over the weeks but now due to the interest it will bring my repayments down to what they were 4 years ago:(

They can't postpone it for another 6 months and they do not do f & f offers. I now wish I had defaulted on this account so that it went to debt collectors.

I was hoping to pay off my mastercard first as this has a balance of £3180.58 and would be quicker to clear. I now have to focus on repaying visa card now due to interest being added. I am now a little worried as my Egg card which has also had the interest frozen has been sold to Barclaycard. I think they may do the same thing with this card when the transfer is complete. Egg has defaulted me on that card and this is due to drop off next February. I don't know how Barclaycard will report this account to the CRA but I hope it doesn't affect me for another 6 years and just when I am almost at the end of this debt disaster.

I know I can't clear it by December this year but I would still like to have my overall debt down to £10,000 and then work out what will be left and how long it will take me to clear it.

I feel like everyone is going to be either asking for higher repayments of adding more interest now. This will really send me over the edge knowing that I have come this far to only feel like how I felt 6 years ago when it was my worst time.

Anyway, I can't do much about this now so I will just have to keep plodding on and hope for the best. I am just praying I get this other job, it will take my mind of this debt issue for a while.

Npower have put their prices up just before the Autumn/Winter kicks in. I haven't had the heating on since April so have hardly used any gas. I have a feeling this will just wipe out the savings I have made so far. I just can't win can I :D

So, thanks to Barclaycard I will now not be able to re-take my Maths GCSE because I really can't afford it. Lets hope I am not forced to reapply for another job that would need a grade C in Maths or higher.

I am going to keep smiling as that's all I have which doesn't cost a single penny.

    Have a great day all:j

  • Yeah, something good has come out of something bad :D

I have been thinking all day about what I can do to get this debt cleared quicker. I thought there was no point in having a plan as something always seems to crop up to spoil things.

Anyway, I decided to call Moorcroft who currently has my debt from B'card (Mastercard). I was saving up to pay the whole balance of £3180.58 at the end of the year. Being as I am in a "I hate Barclays" mood I thought I would ask them about a full and final offer. He's first offer was to reduce it to £2500 and then he went down to £2385. There is no way I could managed to clear that in one go, so I said it was still too much. The guy asked how much I was looking to offer and I said £2000. (I would have gone for less but didn't want to push my luck)

He said yes. So I need to pay £900 by Saturday and £1100 by the 10th September. I have just transfered the £900 back from my savings account and will have to ask my sister if she will loan me the £1100 which will be repaid to her in full within 8 weeks.

£1180.58 will now be written off, I'll get to repay my debts a bit earlier and I will not complain any more about interest being added to my B'card visa (unless they increase it again ;)).

Oh, and it is now looking like I will hit my £10k by December target, which is great.

    Every cloud and all that.....

I will update my Signature once money starts moving.
