In it for the long term...almost a life sentence!

Hi all,
After my recent blip I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread for those of us who are going to be here for a while! My debts are about £31,800 in total so its going to take me years to pay it all off! (about 2014 unless I can pay loans of early by saving to pay full amounts). Anyone want to join to offer mutual support & encouragement along the bumpy road ahead?

I'll be here for the next 3 years if all goes according to plan so till the end of 2009. Hopefully I'll be able to shave off a few months but that's not looking too likely at the moment. I need support, encouragement and hard kicks up the backside when I get slack...

I'll be in debt till about 2011 and thats if I keep myself on track, aiming to concentrate on clearing my credit cards first, and could possibly then do some overpayments on my loans but all thats a long way off :(

  • I know but 2014 is just soooo far away and feels quite overwhelming right now! Good to see that I'm not alone in the amount of debt though! It's just about manageable and thank God I stopped when I did or I'd be in deep dodo as opposed to up to my neck in it dodo!

  • Your circumstances may change and therefore you can throw more at your debt. So many peeps on this site have brought there's forward by years! Stay focused and positive ;) I was feeling crappy last night about it all but today I'm a bit more upbeat :j

  • Thanks for starting this - i too feel that 2010 is a lifetime away,,and it could get longer as my lodger is moving out and i have to cover her bills etc until i can get someone else in ,,,, but you are right little L its going down not up and things could get better!!

The time it took to spend it all seemed to go by in a haze surely coming down the other side of the mountain won't be that bad!!!
