get used to this quoteA Royal Mail spokesman said: “As part of Royal Mail’s £2bn investment in modernising its operations, changes are being made at delivery offices across the country to make them more efficient.
“When any such major change is implemented, some disruption is possible, but we have been doing everything we can to minimise any delays until the changes bed in.”0 -

So was this a different postman to the one who "collected the post, even got the CD through the post" or was it the same one ? was there a gap in time between the two deliveries or did the postman who gave you the CD leave the other parcel in the snow _party_
The postman who put the letters and CD through the door left the other parcel outside in the snow. It would have fitted through the letter box as well.
I do think that it is probably a temp for Christmas that we now have but there are plenty of people out there that are looking for work that would be grateful to have the job. He obviously isn't that bothered about keeping it if he can't put the post through the door0 -

One explanation would be that a van delivered mail that was too large for the postman (or perhaps they have extra deliveries during the christmas period)
or the "foot delivery man" wasn't a Royal Mail employee/agent and had a car/van parked out of your sight (do you have a hedge ?)
i think you've picked it up wrong, she didn't mean the postman 'collected the post' SHE collected the post that was posted through her letterbox (the cd included) then she went outside later to find the parcel left outside.0 -
Phone the local delivery office and ask to speak to a manager. That sort of thing by a postie is just stupid and they need telling so from their work.
No you dont matie. The OP should ring customer service on 08457 740 740 and speak to customer service. The DO is busy enough getting deliveries out.0 -

OK - I thought that you had collected the post from the postman personally since you saw him coming
The other explanation would be that postmen do a 5 day week - deliveries take place 6 days a week so you will get a different postman one day per week (I think thats how it works - or they work 6 days and take a week off every 6 weeks)I am so angry. We have had a different postman this week.
Today - I'm working from home, saw the postman come, collected the post, even got the CD through the post we orderedi think you've picked it up wrong, she didn't mean the postman 'collected the post' SHE collected the post that was posted through her letterbox (the cd included) then she went outside later to find the parcel left outside.
yes I didHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
I used to work on customer care for Thorntons and the old courier used to be parcelnet i think it was, which would be who delivered your goods if you chose the free option upon spending a certain amount or if you chose the £3.95 option. They were a headache to say the least! If you needed next day delivery for a Saturday then it would be Royal Mail that would delivery.
As for Royal Mail - we haven't had mail for nearly a week - with the looks of their page 'if the weather continues we may struggle to deliver your post' so, if you combine this with the theory the bad weathers continuing on until new years, we might be lucky to have post in the New Year!:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one:beer::beer::beer:

My postie opened my front door, took a step in, placed the parcel on my stairs and shouted up "Post!" and then left, the other day.
I was a bit stunned. Good or bad service, you decide!0 -
saying this as a postie - bad service....
putting our fingers through the letterbox, thus technically entering the home is bad (not to mention stupid) - that's just silly!
on a practical customer service level though, depending on how frozen the posties brain was, it probably seemed like a nice thoughtful idea at the time.0 -
