Idiot postman

I am so angry. We have had a different postman this week.

Wednessay - partner home all day as works at home, went out later in the day and there is a parcel in the snow getting covered in snow. Thought it was strange but maybe an accident. Luckily an item that wouldn't be damaged by the snow.

Today - I'm working from home, saw the postman come, collected the post, even got the CD through the post we ordered. Just popped out and there is another parcel again left outside in the snow on the front lawn. He even saw me in, made no effort to ring the bell. This item would have been damaged by the snow if it was out there much longer or if it started snowing.

I can't believe he just leaves them outside I was about to order some more Christmas present but on the likelyhood they will be damaged or stolen i wont bother.

Phone the local delivery office and ask to speak to a manager. That sort of thing by a postie is just stupid and they need telling so from their work.
  • You should think yourself lucky you have been having deliveries, i live in a village just outside of the lincoln city boundry and we have had no post deliveries since monday due to the extreme weather.

But 1 mile in the city deliveries are near normal but not a single word from the royal mail as to whether they will return to normal soon, even customer services seem obliviuos to the situation.
    EX POSTIE.

not being funny, but are the packets in question definitely being delivered by Royal Mail?

If they don't fit through the letterbox and are of reasonable size - is it another homedelivery company who are doing this, or possibly even the RM driver - just wondering before you call up and complain about the foot delivery postie.

My postie did exactly the same thing - must have seen me there,
even took the trouble to write on the letter "parcel on step"! quicker to just ring the doorbell!

Defiantly the foot delivery man, the packets are ones that would fit through the letter box but he didn't bother. No one else has come near the door today, i've been working by the front window so would have seen. Also someone else we know a few street around has said exactly the same, thing.

It would only take someone to notice in the area and they could go around picking up everyones parcels, Christmas shopping done in one go!

I made sure the man noted that it wasn't our normal postman as he was always lovely and went out of his way to deliver items that needed signiture etc to neighbours or leave items in our porch.

PostmanPat68 - when i called to complain they had a message that said online you can check what postal services are affected by bad weather, not sure if that helps.

Any parcels that dare get left outside in the open addressed to me, I would not hesitate to deny receiving them, leaving the sender to chase it up with Royal Mail. Eventually RM would learn that this kind of delivery is completely unacceptable.

    1. Report it to the local office. They will act, and deal with the staff.

2 Remember it's getting to the time of year where they may not be full-time permanent staff, so not entirely the pick of the crop. Report to local office

    2. Take £3.50 (or whatever the postage paid for the parcel was). Take a similar sized package, hop on a local bus, and see how far your parcel gets for the money. Then walk home.
