asda diesel freezing? compensation??

They almost certainly get it delivered and bunker it on site, in the same way a farmer does with his "cherry".
As such it is unlikely to have all the additives of pump fuel, red diesel doesn't have any additives that I know of, and it never used to low sulphar either, not sure about now though.
That is all subject to change ..... modern emmissions regs are going to start to get applied to new 'off road' diesel engines, ie gensets plant gear etc etc, and anyway 'cherry' is normal diesel with coloured dye added, so its just lacking the 'performance' additives.˙ʇuıɹdllɐɯs ǝɥʇ pɐǝɹ sʎɐʍlɐ

By pure coincidence I read an article about red diesel for inland boat use, from January the sulphur content has to be the same as road fuel, red diesel for use at sea is to remain at the previous sulphur content.
This information would appear to contradict the thought that all diesel is the same, and would appear to back up the information that I thought was true, red diesel is old school full fat diesel, sulphur and all.
This would also explain why old diesel engines run slightly better on red diesel, and why they produce more smoke when red diesel is used. I believe that is something that that is noted in Eire when they look out for people using green diesel illegally on the road.0 -
I still don't understand why people choose supermarket fuel under the impression its cheaper. I used to fill up at my local Tesco, until I realised the local Shell station was the same price! You may love your Clubcard points, but the saving per fill-up is probably 5 or 10p difference on loyalty points... and Shell is clearly the superior fuel (my car runs better!). They also do some good points offers on Drivers Club too!
Not saying this is true for the whole country of course. Maybe fuel is just very expensive everywhere around here....0 -

My Diesel has waxed overnight ,car started for a few seconds then stopped and won t restart. We have no garage to keep it in and it cost us £80 to get it towed and checked out last time.I don t know how much it will cost this time. Its a ford focus so it sends a fault signal through to the engine and it needs diagnostic read done on it to get the error codes. With the temp not due to come above zero here for the next 5 days at least I ve had to hire a car.As soon as its warmed up its getting part ex for a Petrol.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0

We have recently got hold of some additive from Wruth, it raises the cetane level and prevents waxing, we have put it in a few and so far seems to work.

We had -17 the other night, only use Morrisons and my home made bio.
No problems to report.
Know a lot of people that had problems, never asked where they filled up though.
I should add though, whilst trying to solve a starting problem with the wifes previously, under the engine cover is insulated now.0 -
