Why don't you all just wait until the free P&P offer finishes, then it should go back to accepting the voucher for a £15 spend, as in the terms & conditions. If this doesn't happen, then there might be some grounds for complaint.......but only then. This will also allow them to restock on the cheaper items. So just be patient!

I got my order y'day, fast dispatch, I used the code as T&C stated got nice little stocking filler for a fiver.
Live for today, for tomorrow is promised to no-one.

never complain about growing old,far too many people have been denied that privilege.

  • Bearing in mind the issues that have been raised re honouring their deals.... I ordered some items on Friday but like an idiot I forgot to put in the discount code at the 'checkout.' I immediately rang the company asking if they could cancel the order so that I could re-submit it. The member of staff I spoke to said there was no need to do that, offered to refund the £10 which she did - and honoured the order. No hassle, honesty and helpfulness means that I will want to shop there again

This is a Small company. I am local to a few of their stores and all are tiny with one member of staff. They've honoured those who ordered, at least they were honest and dealt with the change in T and C's quickly. More than the likes of ELC the other day.

I got the email the other day saying £15 min too, went to buy something today for £20 (before discount) and it said min is £25!! looks like they've realised lots of people are buying stuff and sneakily upped the minimum!! I'm not bothering now either....
    Nic

I think it, I say it... it's my way

Agreed. I could understand them changing the code and the minimum spend requirements for new people signing up, and I could understand them charging postage with the £15 spend limit, as that is what I would have expected from the T&C (I hadn't realised that p&p weren't being charged tbh) but to give someone a genuine £10 off of £15 spend voucher when they have genuinely fulfilled all requirements and then refuse to honour it sucks IMO.

I have a perfectly legitimately come by £10 off £15 spend voucher in my inbox (signed up for newsletter as directed etc), and the company are refusing to honour it unless I spend £25. I really, truely am confused as to why people are praising their customer service with regard to this? They are arbitarily moving the goal posts.

If it was a glitch I could understand it. But if the company cannot afford to give £10 off of £15, then why issue a voucher for that amount? And this is not the first time they have issued a voucher for that level of discount, there was a year old thread regarding this offer last year. As I have said before, I would be MORE than happy to pay the p&p (£2.50, I believe), but I don't wish to purchase an item for £25. If the voucher had been £10 off of £25, I wouldn't have signed up in the first place. I feel mislead and let down. I cannot see why the company did not simply remove the free p&p on the website, if it was that which was causing the problem? Unless they wish to cash in on their new popularity...

I agree totally. Never mind all these smug people praising the company for their actions - they obviously all benefitted from the offer (offer not glitch). I'm sure the Office of Fair Trading will be very interested to hear about this.

Can I just say that this is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with, BUT they are a small company, and the thousands of people who log onto MSE and take advantage of these offers could easily send them to the wall.

Please bear in mind that this is a public forum and you dont have to be registered to view the boards so the thanks and views are rarely an accurate snapshot of how many people have taken advantage of the offer.

For those of you that are cross that you didnt get an email, it was not just posted on here it was also posted on facebook yesterday too (and possibly twitter but I dont tweet so cant comment). This is a busy time of year and even at £10 off a £25 spend you are getting more than a third off, so please can we all just have a bit of goodwill to all men and be nice to everyone.

I can think of several much larger companies who have taken orders and money and then told the customer that the item was not available, so really being honest and holding their hands up to having a bad day IT wise is not a crisis.
