The reason we changed the min order value was that was the only thing we could do quickly enough to ensure we didn't go bust! We had done this as an offer to our loyal customers because of the snow this weekend and had not anticipated anyone posting this offer on MSE! Hope you understand, thanks for your comments.

I don't think this is fair considering the email says £15 min spend. I was happy to pay for P&P but disagree with goal shifting and have taken my business elsewhere.
ETA: In the aftermath of this, I hope they do the decent thing and either honour the voucher or email an updated T&C for the offer. I certainly don't wish to receive newsletters and have my personal details stored by a company that behaves this way.0 -

Sounds odd but the UK law is that you only have to hallmark items over 7.8gms in weight that is why this item won't be hallmarked. As explained however it is solid silver, but a hollow cast piece of silver jewllery made in two parts then fixed back together.

Thanks for explaining. Fancy that!
Thanks to the other posters too, and no, I'll not take the money back guarantee, the company has enough to deal with I think from reading this thread.
Wishing HiHo every success and I hope the promotion leads to more customers. :T0 -

Look I'm sorry, just sometimes when someone misses a glitch things get a bit silly.
I've been in 5 shops, so no not all but feel so strongly about this one that I suppose I'm trying to defend too much. We all miss glitches and offers , some of us move on while others really feel they had a right to someones mistake. As you own a business you're in a better position than me to comment but I just feel that smaller ones don't need any hassle, particularly with the way things are at the moment. I do think though that as someone already commented maybe just charging for delivery would have been a better way to handle it, but OFT seems a bit harsh. Too many children, too little time!!!

I bet you their profits in one day are many times more than most of our salaries in one year!
Hey Jody, this is a deal I like the sound of. How much will you bet? I'm in for any amount you care to put up, you have no idea. I don't know this company's figures but I do know about running small businesses. Small rural shops rarely earn much more in profit annually than one decent salary, and in the present climate if they are making ANY profit they'd be the exception. Haven't you noticed how many empty shops there are around? That's because retailers are going to the wall all over the place.
Your theory suggests they'd be making maybe 25k a day, that's around £9m a year. They wish. Their turnover will be a fraction of that, and their profit, if any, a tiny tiny fraction of their turnover.0 -

That's true enough, Liddle has no toilets and they're quite big. Come to think of it, Amazon have no toilets on their website.0 -

I wouldn't bother.
Some people do not have a clue & really couldn't be bothered to find out about it.
To prove it all they have to do is spend a couple of quid on companies house website & they will see for themselves how many billions of pounds this company makes each second. Not Again0 -

Love this company normally and like a lot of people thought it was a small family business. Having only ever shopped in store I thought I would sign up for this deal as well, thinking I would get a nice little item as a pressie. (I normally spend way too much in the shops.) So was disappointed when the offer emailed to me wasn't honoured on the website.
But then found out their shops are going to be open to 5pm Christmas eve, Boxing day and New Years day. This sounds much more corporate, I thought small family businesses had a soul
.
So whilst the family are enjoying christmas, their staff are out making them money. I know times are hard but this is just scrooge like, where's the Christmas spirit? In our town the true small companies are closed on Boxing day and none of them would dream of opening on New Years day.0
