:rotfl: I watched it too! :smileyhea I still can't believe that I have been to Canada 4 times in 5 years and have never seen a real mountie! We did see some mounted police this time but there weren't actual mountiesmy canadian friend says mounties are more like undercover police and rarely wear their uniform in public, apart from at events. Whilst we were there the Montreal football team (american football) won a big cup, there were mounties there (on tv coverage) giving the cup to the players. On our last day the team did a parade in the city so we went to watch incase there would be mounties, but alas there were none.
I'm still in my pjs but have had a semi-productive day. WM has done one load, I've cleaned the fridge and microwave, and the kitchen.
I was going to visit parents but it started snowing a bit and they live in a rural area so roads by them wouldn't be great so I didn't bother. Still need to do food shop so think I will make a list now and go shortly, or maybe tomorrow! The snow didn't stick here so roads are ok.
Facebook won't let me upload my pics still  I posted on techie board but no-one has replied yet. I have managed to upload 25 pics so far in 24hours!

Hi,
Another 1 still in pj's herealthough I have been up & about since 6.40  when my sister rang (on her way to work) to tell me they finally had some snow on Islay:cool: she then text me at 12.34 to say "it's gone, how rude" :rotfl: have offered to send her some of ours.
DP managed to get the car out & go into town to pick up my prescription only to find it wasn't at the pharmacy where it should have been & the Drs was closed:mad: so no painkillers for me today:( hopefully it will be there tomorrow.
OS today have made soup (thanks jackieg) & a loaf of bread which is scrummy, best loaf I've ever made:) also managed to get DS's washing dry to go to his dad's & that as they say is yer lot. No kids tonight so am going to bag all the hot water & have a long soak & give my hair a deep conditioning treatment whilst reading one of my library books.
Hope every1 is staying safe & warm, hugs to those in need,

Hi all,
very cold here today, still got about 2ft of snow lying and foot-long icicles hanging from the roof! Not had much snowfall today, just a few light flurries here and there. I've been going to bed with fleece PJs, sleeping bag, fleece blanket, thick socks and duvet the past few nights! Had the heating on for an extra hour so far today, trying to keep it off by layering up, using candles, drinking lots of hot drinks etc.
I've not left the house today, was going to collect a parcel from the sorting office in the next village but have asked them to redeliver instead so I don't have to go out especially for it. Topped up my mobile by phone to save going out too. Spent the day filling in job applications since I quit uni on Monday! :j Thankfully there's quite a few vacancies in my industry just now. Did a bit of comping as well since I've had time.
Gonna use up some out of date mozzarella and slightly wrinkly tomatoes to make warm pesto pasta salad for dinner, then have some HM rice pudding after. Freezer is running a bit low due to having use of only 1 drawer of small freezer! Still got sausages and a chicken breast that I can base meals on, as well as cheese, veg, tuna etc in cupboards that I can have with pasta, rice or pots.
Stay warm and safe everyone!0 -
hi just a quick warming note--its sunny and about set for 23 today! balmy weather for december.
Butterfly Brain I hope the numskull that slashed your DH's tyre gets something like that done to him one day. I just do not understand people being destructive for the sake of it.
I'm very late coming here today; been busy putting a load of beer scores on the CAMRA spreadsheet.
I've also put together a small spreadsheet for our medication; usually I put the next day's meds out each night, but a couple of evenings lately I've felt really rough, and got Mr LW to do it, and he's had to bring all the packets in on the wheeled trolley for me to talk him through what's needed. I thought if we have a spreadsheet, he'll be able to refer to that if I'm not well.
It's veggie Lincolnshire sausages with mash and gravy for dins tonight; Mr LW has prepped the spuds and left them in water, so I just have to cook and mash them.:A
He's on leave on Monday, so don't worry if I'm not around; also we're out for a meal Sunday night, for his birthday (snow permitting).:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

I've got a 2.5 year old too, can go as a pair? DD has been bl00dy vile. Again. She's not walking ever again, it's the push chair or the car and that's that
i have just been hit on the head with a car and have a nice bump! must be something in the air today.
i went for walk this afternoon while ds was with his godmother for an hour. slipped before i had even got out of the garden :o:rotfl:the drive is solid ice and on a slope. good luck to hubby get the car up it later!
watched a car crash into a parked one trying to drive on a road that is thick with ice... when there is no need to. the road goes into the local supermarket and there is another entrance. common sense escapes a few people...."I have learnt that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one""You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.”Maya Angelou0 -
Had the fright of my life on school run. DS came out without his wellies so I sent him back for them. Somehow he missed where I was standing with kids and left the grounds. A friend caught him halfway down the green we walk down to our house with him getting upset saying "mommy wait for me" <wells up at the though of it> They were looking for him inside school and I was one step away from full blown panic when friend brought him back into the playground. I NEVER want to repeat that EVER again.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Hi Guys!
Although it hasnt snowed today, it is VERY cold and nothing has melted.
WM has been on 4 times (2 lots with MIL's stuff), DW has been on and emptied and floors hovered and mopped. Cleaner wasn't able to come today, so she has offered to come Sunday.
OH & DD have gone to the local supermarket and drove for the first time in 3 days:eek::eek::eek::eek:....have done a small list of mainly staples, fridge, fruit and vegetables encase we have more snow next week. Hopefully the fish and chip shop will be open for tea tonight after they have finished:D
Have managed to get to the sofa today:j:j:j with the help of a nice big injection from my nurse as she wasn't able to get here yesterday or day before, so had to use the liquid stuff which isn't as potent. Had my bloods done and BP was quite low. She said to OH that I need to have a hot drink every half hour at least and a little snack of a biscuit etc with it.
Jackie0-Can I ask how you do the bacon and liver in SC please as I have a nice large bit of liver in the freezer that needs using? Thanks x
Anyway, hope all is well with everyone.

Evening all
I didn't manage to goet online this morning before I left for work.
Minus 4 here all day, & even colder now, still hubby & I are happy sat under blankets, we'll probably have an early night.
Soup making will be done tomorrow & other such cosy house keeping duties.
Hugs Hester

My dd did that to me once is Mr T, one moment she was there, the next gone , terrified the life out of me, they sealed the place off, and everyone was searcing for her, turned out she was in the photo booth with the curtain shut, I am sure this has happened to all of us on here at one time or another, glad he is ok xx
