The milkman finally delivered the milk while I was at Tesco buying some!

Was ridiculously cheered to see that Tesco had crumpets for half price- I bought two packets and now have to find room in the freezer.

No sign of the binmen. My sister says that there was something in her local paper about wrapping food waste for the green bins. Otherwise it all freezes together in one solid lump which upsets the mechanism in the bin lorries.
  • Afternoon everyone :) Tru, I'm getting the exact same chocolates in my advent calendar as you are, each day so far :p !

Feeling a bit better today; one of my friends did some long distance BodyTalk on me last night, and I felt better instantly. I also slept really well, without the tight jaw I've had for weeks now.

I want to say a big 'Thank you!' for all of your kind words yesterday; it's lovely to know I come on here and vent/panic and people will care. Hopefully I will be as kind when others need me.

So, today. I was out with the doggo this morning, and at 10am it was -16  I've never had the vapour in my nose frozen, and I don't think I want to try that again. Even the dog looked miserable and was walking like a demented spider as the snow was freezing onto her paws, poor thing!

I'm as OS as can be at the moment - I'm off to make bread in a min, then will continue with my cross stitch bookmark for MIL's Christmas present. May do some crochet a bit later, but as I'm still waiting for my yarn to arrive, that pastime may be shortlived :p. When I've exhausted that I have a patchwork cushion to start, and if I ever manage to finish that, I may have to start on the pile of books I've got to read; it's a hard life being an end-of-studies student ;)

Apart from that, I have no idea what's for dinner, still not really hungry, but I suspect it may be something with either pasta and smoked sausage or chicken. Doggo has a chicken carcass for later which she'll love :)

So, I'm off to make and bake, and wait for OH's friend to call; it's nothing important but he likes to check that I'm ok when I'm on my own :o.

Hope everyone's well, and hugs for those that need them.

    Tracy xx
  • I am knackered, I've just cleared my paths and my next door neighbours' it wasn't too badly frozen but its the most work I have done all year :rotfl: Looks good though, and I was worried about them as they are elderly and although they are fit and healthy, they aren't fit for that sort of thing.

My dishwasher has arrived. :j:j:j Not connected yet though!

Just tramped through the snow and ice to the post office and tramped back again - this time past the hot sandwich shop :o by the time I got home the bacon and egg sandwich wasn't really hot anymore but it was still delicous. Got some milk for a neighbour too.

The delivery blokes from JL were totally magnificent and even cleared the steps so I've phoned the dispatch off to leave my praise for them. Think sometimes I am quick to complain and need to make a real effort to be as quick to praise.

    Hot coffee coming up!

Ours was his 2nd from last stop then he was finished and his van was in the last 5 out and that was it nomore vans last night others were being contacted to rearange a new day and time and being offered free del on there next order as ours was late we got a £5 food voucher to use which really is the cost of the del. it's been really bad here - the snow is higher than my wellies - so i am hotdesking in a different office today....

there's one woman at work who seems to be really funny about it - but there are no buses, and i'd rather walk for half an hour the 2 hours each way.... hey ho.

Well isn't that the point of hotdesking? the ability to work in any office <rollseyes> or would she prefer you not to go to work at all. At least you're showing willing.

    Afternoon all!
Was feeling pleased with myself yesterday, managed to convince OH and his friend to have pub lunch at home (was very tasty, if i do say so myself) Saved OH and I a good £20!!
Went to work and stayed late to help out as i knew there was a train 30mins later, got to the station and the train was cancelled!! The ONLY Train that was cancelled too!! So ended up having to spend more than i earnt in overtime on a taxi home!! Luckily there was another guy who needed to get to my station to make a connecting train ( It's terrible i could tell straight off by his accent and what he was wearing where he needed to get to! oh and bless him, he didn't think you could barter with tax drivers and orginially we were going to get him to make two stops, and he paniced that the taxi driver wouldn't let him out!! ahh to be young, rich and no knowledge of the real world!)

Anyway it was stressfull, and expensive.

BUT i got invited to work overtime this weekend, you can only work OT if you hit your weekly targets. So i'm pleased about that, i could have done 8 hours, the money would have come in handy, but opted for 4 hours which will still be a good bonus.

OH is currently making me fajitas, then it's off to town to return my ipod and then to work!!

Hugs to all who need them.
