Just trying to learn gmail... I've been using it a year and never got round to really working it out - and it'd got to the point where I had a bunch of database backups littered throughout it and couldn't easily move them into my DB-backup folder where I keep them as they come in (when I've time to keep on top of it).
So I googled... and found how you do it. It's really daft the way they do it as they use non-standard terminology. So, I achieved it. 700 database backups from 15,000 unread emails....all nicely tucked up where they should be. And they should automatically go into that folder from now on too.
Just 14,300 more/other emails to try to sort out now then.0 -
I got 14 but after the first two rows I couldn't be bothered to do a pairwise comparison...
Of course on the proper monitor downstairs with a mouse rather than this dodgy laptop with a trackpad....
Originally I used to file my gmails but now I just use the inbox and search...I think....0 -
meeting on 20th to make decisions....but your advice was sooo helpful. We're going to be using them..
Oh good...if you want to run any visuals past me just e-mail them. Much more fun casting opinion than cutting the pattern and stitching it together.:)PasturesNew wrote: »I'm here.... I was off doing a drag and drop colour thingy ... some quiz about women and men's abilities to tell colours apart - and you have to drag all these squares of colours along until they're in the right order to phase between the start colour and the end colour. I suspect every wrong one is 1 mark, with 0 being a perfect mark.
I don't need an invite to the launch party - because I'm way too cool for things like that, I'll be doing something far more fabulously exciting... let's see 27th/28th.... I'll be writing in this thread and updating some random articles online... and checking my stats randomly every hour.
As I said ... way too cool for launch parties and the West End. You should get out more :P
Some gardening for me tomo as I insisted I take a day out.
Then I can join in more on the chat. I have a limp tomato plant and the chlli plants are just green leaves still and the salad has been great but some of it has grown 2' tall and has yellow flowers now. We have been eating them but they don't taste of anything...I'll need some advice.
Got 4 fiish and cleaned out the pond and they have already doubled in size and I am training them to do tricks with fish flakes but they aren't as good as the last fish I had (that the tenants let die).0 -

As long as you don't mind the advice coming from DH, it's fine! Proper dirty stuff is his domain.
I think we've found our new homeEverything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I got 16 - must remember to wipe the bifocals next time.
It is really weird, the tile can positively glow with greenness/blueness/purpleness so I switch it with its neighbour. Damn it the other tile is now glowing. I think one's brain must retain an image and that gets superimposed over the new image supplied by the eyes.
Seems I have a bit of a blind spot on the LHS.
When you are 60 you get biannual sight tests - I hate the little-red-flash-lights the most. Always wonder if the operator is having a laugh as I sit there all scrunched up with my chin in a sort of stirrup restraint.
Walked the 100 yards down to the back road to get the local paper again today.
Only one new Ali can - we have has a switch to the "sports" type drinks. What a rip off, tap water with a trace of salt and Epsom salts added. People who drink this stuff must be the same as those who think getting a fancy new pair of trainers turns them into athletes.
1 Monster power drink.
1 "Italian" Coffee drink.
1 Lucozade "body fuel"
1 Lucozade "Energy".
1 Power Rade Xion: The real idiots drink Water + Sugar + Salt with per 100 gms:
12.5 mg Potassium
1.3 mg Calcium
0.6 mg Magnesium
Any one know how 3.9 gms of sugar per 100gms of the radiant blue drink, turns into 11% in the traffic light type system.
Ah I think I understand it, that is 11% of your empty calories RDA per 250 gms of drink = a small small glassful.
It seems that this brew is bottled by Coca Cola.
A worthy successor to "Dasani".

I got 18, but I'm lying down, with a small/rubbish monitor and my mouse is using the back of a spiral bound pad, resting on my mattress... so not the easiest of things to do. And I have the light out.
That was rather interesting - I got 8, it all seemed fairly obvious to me. I'll get OH to try it, he's useless at colours!...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
I scored 15 but I have trouble distinguishing between certain colours in the blue spectrum, so they were either very obvious or, er, this lot all look the same. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

At least it's possible to "have another go" - unlike some quizzes/tests where you could remember answers or learn how to answer the question, with colour, you either see it or you don't.
I won't be having another go. It was 3 minutes of fun and then move on with life
I do find some right old cr4p to link to don't I.0 -
Right, there is a good reason why my house is magnolia because as prove by PN's test, I have no idea on colours unlike the rest of you lovely lot. lol
edit: just did it again and got 45. still rubbish.0 -
will do colour thing this evening, but want to say congrats to doozer. Even when you're used to it finding a home is a big event!
Doozergirl, your dh's advise would be great. I'll take pics to help explain what I'm asking too.0
