weird weather. hot then freezing, then hot again.
lj, cooking for one cheerfups: have a nice set of plate/cutlery just for when you eat alone: my ''dinner service'' is mismathed antique/vitage/new china anyway, but I have a plate I love that's a bit cracked, I use that through the week. For soup/porridge/stuff I have an oversized cup from mont st michel which is tacky but funny, makes me smile. I use a proper napkin, even if I'm eating in a chair.
Keeping food ''enjoyable'' is healthy. Because I have to be so bloody careful about it all I went through periods of time I gave up eating, or eating stuff I didn't enjoy..bt is balanced. IMO, eating stuff like that is as bad for the soul as eating ''poorly'' is for the body.
there are occasions, rare, that I can't adapt what I feed dh for me, so I have my alone meals then too.0 -
"We wanna be free to ride our machines" "we wanna get loaded".
It's a nice video, but he seems to have overlooked the Don't Drink and Drive message!
I like Easy Rider. It's cool. Prefer Bullitt though. And the original Thomas Crown Affair, oh and the original Oceans 11. 60s films are just so stylish. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I'm fuming.
Just got a solicitors letter addressed to the previous owners - who we bought off in 2006! Why are they using our address for a business they set up in 2009?
They sold to us in 2006 and then their business went bust and they personally went bankrupt. They moved to a lovely rental in the countryside a few miles from here.
Then they set up another business and that failed.
Then another one - the one that this letter refers to - owing money to a supplier!
So why the hell are we getting letters for them?
(I know it doesn't effect our credit rating, its just annoying.)
When we bought we got letters for them and bailiffs turning up at the doorbut I could understand that the address was legitimately this one; but now it means that they are still either using this address or hiding their address so well that all that can be found is this one.
To top it all, I saw her out driving this week in a Mercedes, don't know if its new but she'd transferred her numberplate across.
If you think they are doing something illegal, you could contact Action Fraud, see: http://www.actionfraud.org.uk/. Alternatively, you could try calling Companies House. AF was set up as a one stop shop for fraud enquiries though, so could be the best first port of call. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? those signs outside people's houses that say ''No callers without appointment''. Rude and arrogant or ok if you are fed up to the back teeth of people stopping in?
(l was just quite abrupt with someone because I just HATE people you don't know calling at your house.) On the yard etc is slightly different, I accept then I am ''at work'' but when you are in the middle of painting something with oil and people think you're up for stopping, getting horrid lines because they want to know the gossip about you then its a pain the *&^%. TBH, I just am fed up with rude people asking rude questions: life, and most certainly the weekend is too short to spend talking to them!0 -
Have to post a link to this story because it wins my award for headline of the week:

At lir towers, which we all know is very, very posh, can you not get a camera that surveys people very noisily as it moves around from side to side, looks them up and down and then doesn't open the door to those you don't like the look of? Personally I leave it up to my butler;). Seriously, I just don't answer the door if I cba (which isn't really my butler, it is my chav inner twin). Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Yeah, getting them, definitely.
But we were painting the front windows. (butler doesn't work weekends, we like to keep it casual then). so, no option of not answering door.
Its nice to meet nice people, and I expect people to be nosey, and even to be self promoting (in fact I rather admire people's gall when they do!) but just....by appointment.0 -
lemonjelly wrote: »Or the crditor in question hasn't chased up the debt for a while.
With the 6 year time limit, there is often the case where creditors do v little until the time limit for legal action approaches. If the debt gets into a 5th year with no action, suddenly it starts again.
Or, the credit agency could have found out that the debtor got money from somewhere (eg by looking at tax returns or the like)
Lastly, debt collectors pass debts around. a new agency might have just got this one & you live at their last recorded or known address..
No, the letter lists the debts, they are from 2009. so no excuses!vivatifosi wrote: »If you think they are doing something illegal, you could contact Action Fraud, see: http://www.actionfraud.org.uk/. Is it fraud if your business fails - for the 3rd time - yet you still spend like money grows on trees? Or is it bad money management.
This time they are trading themselves as opposed to through a company (I guess they can't be directors any longer), so the debt is theirs. Hence why they are not revealing their address to suppliers.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
