Who did I ask about parking on their drive recently? I'll have to dig you out ....

I've been offered a free £1million house and free car for a few weeks next month .... and there's no point taking mine on the ferry if I choose to go. But, it's short notice and it clashes with something I've paid for/booked up country (part of my big 800 mile round road trip). So tossing ideas/dates/costs around to see if it's achievable.

So I need to get some photos, get a passport, find out prices/dates, find somewhere to stick the car that's safe ... and go enjoy a holiday destination in a big gaff. It's house-sitting too, so mostly just me.

well, it looks better now I've stood back and chanted ''this is a temp fix, this is a temp fix''. Its 100 times better than it was already.

but now I'm thinking about carpet off cuts.....

I really fancy some grass green carpet as a temp stop gap for the floor: but in reality it would fade quickly look a bit like school carpet I think. I like things like sisal but so would the cats, and I notice they go really slippery, and I'm always a bit scared when faced with stairs with that kind of sisal/seagrass or whatever ...knowing I'll slip.

Anyway, I'm even considering, on the ground evel, painting the concrete:mad: floor and getting a rug if I can't get an offcut. At least it will smell better! (though it will be deathly in winter)

You are so lucky. I have very definite roots at the moment. I want to find some sort of crayon, make up or hair mascara that will colour them in so I don't have to look at them. Anyone know of a product?

I don't want to have my hair done because I have very expensive highlights put in and don't want a single colour put over the top.

See Wheezy and Gen, you don't have any of this trouble. And I have to carry a hairbrush everywhere!

There is something which keeps being advertised on the telly that is like a felt tip and covers the roots....but can't for the life of me remembered what it is called.

I'm feeling quite proud of myself today, my indicator bulb went on my car and usually it was ex husband who replaced them. The last time it happened, I did my damsel in distress impression at the local garage who replaced the bulb for me for the price of a cup of tea but I was determined I could do it myself this time.

And I did! In fact, it was amazingly simple and was akin to the circuit boards we used to mess about on in Physics....
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

I eat odd meals alone. steamed broccoli with oyster sauce, (no balancing protein or carb). Left over cabbage, or specially cooked cabbage for one. My most frequent ''proper'' solo meal is poached egg. whch I then fail to balance with veg often, or just have with spinach...for days and days.:o

:D I do normally eat really strangely but tonight i cooked a meal and ate it all. my brain is used to doing enough food for 2.

And there's nowt on TV too. is this what it's like growing old? Eating too much and watching crap tv?

:rotfl::rotfl: I can relate to that......Since we all now live altogether I get a bit miffed about having to prep/cook really tasty nutriscious meals every single evening after a long day and ones that everyone will like.
OH is a mashed pots and meat/gravy man, DD is pasta/tomato based type person, son likes more spicy things like chorizo in his sauce or chilli flakes in everything....and me? I would probably be almost vegan if I only had to prep dinner for myself. Nice homemade lentil and wild rice salad for example.

When I was in Brighton and DD would go out for the evening I would just have Boiled egg, big salad and lump of proper bread....washed down with lots of red wine Yum.

OOoooh sounds fun......enjoy enjoy and we don't want to hear any reasons not to do it later on. There's always a reason not to do something (just as there are always reasons to do something also).

Any one up for an update on The Holy Grail Of Shops?:)

aaaagh just lost a whole post so will start over...

Abslutely not forotten anyone..I confess that I log on often late at night just to catch up on everyones news but don't 'thank' as it seems rude not to comment on the posts and the 'thanks' indicates I read it. I do respond in my head though :) I just don't have the typing time to write a response.

I am in awe of anyone who hatches their own peacocks from scratch....really impressed.

We have discovered why the Holy Grail of Shops is....well......a Holy Grail. Double OMG.

I can officially anounce that we are opening a Pop up shop on Ground Floor (triple OMG) of 36 sq m on 23 June for 4 weeks.
We had the meet up and had 4 weeks to do the entire thing from scratch. We have to design and fit out the entire space....and we were dead honest in the meet that we are very small, don't have ooodles of cash to splash on shop fitting companies and so on and it was like 'oh don't worry, we love the product, the design we did throw togather 5 mins before meet' and not to worry.

It hasn't quite worked out like that but I do not dare write down the fit cost here as it could give PN a mini stroke.:D

I forgot about gardener's world. i quite like monty. it's nice to see how different spaces would work.

Monty Don took up gardening in the early 90's I think after his jewellery label went bust. Monty Don costume jewellery was the big thing in the 80's.
I haven't ever watched a show but I have read some of his articles.
Is Alan Titchmarsh still about? I saw somw of hid porgs years back.
