Surely a spinster can, ummm, spin? There's hidden depths to your talents, PN.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Talking of spinning and PN, Pn I saw this jewellery some tie ago now but the two words put together made me think I should share the link with you. I don't think it looks as good in the photos as in the flesh, and it is a very acquired taste...but highly imaginative and she gets a good price for it http://www.facetsofavalon.com/Site/Latest%20Work.html0

I have a simple, clean eye for what's right and what's not.
I've never liked faff.
Found another bit of kit I want/need... £200.
Kit needed (er, wanted) is currently probably £500. But I need space/water/light/power first.0 -

How big is the flint wave thingy? And what is it, a brooch maybe? No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Hmm, looking at it its a necklace/collar.
In the flesh they really are something. The one I likes best was oranges and reds and yellows and looked like a flame....but too expensive for me.CAn't see it or one like it on the website
I quite like the idea of some of the collaborative dresses....the green one. And the ''shell'' collection is more delicate.0 -

An acquired taste: I haven't acquired it.How big is the flint wave thingy? And what is it, a brooch maybe?
Looks like a brooch. To be worn by ladies of a certain age???I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I'm guessing it would take a lot of skill, a lot of materials and a LOT of hours to make one of those big collars. Maybe a week, maybe even two, for somebody that knew what they were doing.
It'd be difficult to price that to cover hours, unless the tag was a biggun.
I suppose if you sat and made the components, each as if in a production line, knocking them out as quickly as you could. Then moved onto the next piece quick as you like ..... it could be achieved a bit faster, but it wouldn't be pleasant.
I'm kind of more: "Hey, look at this small, simple piece. It's shiny!"0 -

Have you ever read THE SET by Ranulph Fiennes? the weirdest book I ever read, he sort of suggests it is a true story but very difficult to believe although could be an amalgam of true tales, after all Fiennes has had a very colourful past, SAS, explorer etc. I note some of the comments on the Amazon site verifying some details (I don't know if they are taking the Pxxx), I quite enjoyed first time and I have just started to read again. I did a cursery google for one of the first characters named and I think I found him, some of the comments on Amazon are worth a read.

A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Bad luck, LJ, I've already done mine online. Just waiting to the end of the month to submit it in case something changes.
Quite the opposite mate!:) If you're in my area & already filled it in/returned it/done it online, then you won't get anyone like me knocking on your door saying, "excuse me, about the census form you were sent...":)Is it just in my sick mind that this suggests something?
Yep!
(On re-reading, my part of the post quoted - "I don't like role play" sounds worse...):eek:Have you ever read THE SET by Ranulph Fiennes? the weirdest book I ever read, he sort of suggests it is a true story but very difficult to believe although could be an amalgam of true tales, after all Fiennes has had a very colourful past, SAS, explorer etc. I note some of the comments on the Amazon site verifying some details (I don't know if they are taking the Pxxx), I quite enjoyed first time and I have just started to read again. Never heard of it!
>>>>>>off to google....:)It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -
I've not even seen a census form, nor did I know it could be done online. I doubt I will see it. It's not my house, therefore it's the business of "the man in the house" and I'll never see sight of it at all. I bet there are thousands of people like me dotted here and there who will either be missed off, or erroneously documented. And there's nothing we can do about it as it's "not our business" as that's the "man of the house's private business".
Oh - and I'm not interested. Know those people who have no idea what you're selling, but they know they're not interested...? That's me.0
