    I hate role play.

Yeah, I'm not into it either. But I've never been asked to do it in an interview or training.

I've never done role play, I can guess what it is .... I know I'd hate it.

I couldn't do the census thing. All those "people". I'm not good at people. I'd be OK if I knocked, asked, they provided the paper/answers/whatever, everybody smiled and it was on to the next one.... but it'd be all the loonies and people who want to rant about Governments.

I suspect that if I get those, I'll just end up agreeing with them...:D
It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.

Then you'd be told off for not hitting targets :)

No time to chat ... gotta hit the targets. And, at first, you have 100 houses in a row, 60 are in/done. Next day, same road, 40 to get through, 7 are in. Next day, same road, 33.

You end up walking the length of the road just to reach the 4 that are never in.

It's not easy to keep re-treading the same ground, especially when you can hear them inside bellowing at each other, but you've got targets to meet!

My friend did it in the US, he used to literally hide behind bushes and pounce on people as they were going into their house, to catch them.... to meet targets.

If you're not meeting your targets, you don't get a fresh batch, so you don't get offered the work. On the other hand, do too well and you end up picking up all the scraps from people who dropped out as they got tired of treading the same old streets for people who were never in.

    Census ain't about targets PN!:D

Basically have to try at least 3 times to recover the completed census forms. If they have difficulties (ie language, literacy or disability) then give em a hand.:)

One or 2 might be in a situation where it isn't appropriate - for example the recently bereaved.

If I can't get them, then the enforcement team take over I assume.

Bad luck, LJ, I've already done mine online. Just waiting to the end of the month to submit it in case something changes.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

Is it just in my sick mind that this suggests something?

I've not seen the census. My dad'll fill it out. I'll probably be: spinster, secretary..... he can't get beyond the fact I can type.
