Can't match you up.
You know that they're deliberately fleecing you, so don't be scared. Have a chocolate and take GBD's cuddle
The whole experience is making me feel quite anxious/distraught and utterly useless. How could I forget to get the permit out, then how could I even forget if I'd forgotten (which is why I went back to double check).
Nasty bad men, creeping about and lurking in bushes (I'm sure it was the grey duffer with the mug of tea in the camper).... he didn't have a ticket and was straddling 3 bays. Must have been him.0 -

FWIW PN, I should do what you will feel least anxious about doing. It's good to fight injustice, but only so far if it's going to make you miserable. Why not be guided by what feels the best thing for you to do?0 -

Er, me too! I can't lie for toffee and I wouldn't either in a situation like that.
No one is asking you to lie. We are suggesting that you ignore them. It's like trying to argue with a sockpuppet; they are doing it deliberately and you're better off ignoring than trying to argue, because it doesn't actually matter what you say, you're arguing with someone who only wants to wind you up.
You have done nothing wrong so you don't need to be punished for it. They are the liars, ignore them.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'd kick myself more about losing the money when I didn't need to.
It's just that little niggle at the back of my head that I'll get caught and have to pay shedloads.
Anybody who knows an Aspie will know that any choice causes pain and suffering. A situation like this has a severe effect on mental well-being, whichever choice is made. Choice doesn't come easy. This will cause me angst for years to come, to be honest.... I will now go into blind panics every time I park the car anywhere at all.... I'll read, re-read, double-check and say it out loud to myself the full instructions of every parking notice everywhere.... for years.
It's an angst that'll lie in my psyche now probably for life. The mere sight of any parking company staff/van will bring terror to my stomach and heart.
SRSLY ... and if you think I'm joking, then you need to read a bit more about ASD.0 -
PN, there is a very handy section on MSE which deals with parking notices from these companies (they are not fines, only council car parks can issue them)..it can be found in the motoring section.
Anyway, I got a ticket from one of these companies about 3 years or so ago....I had parked in the supermarket car park (there is actually a supermarket, homebase, hair dressers, pub, cafe and various other shops) and was 3 minutes late getting back to the car as youngest had an asthma attack just as we were on our way back to the car.
The notice arrived, I called them and tried to appeal to their better nature....they stood their ground, I had no money so couldn't pay the reduced amount, tried appealing again explaining the circumstances, no joy...so I got peed off and refused to pay.
There followed a few more letters (including a photo of my car entering and exiting the car park with times), all ignored and after a while they stopped.
So hold strong. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

I'm so unsettled... and nothing can change that.
But I will hold on.
I trust you guys........ but feel a roller-coaster of emotions such as failure, despair, hopelessness - and I really just want to curl up and cry and hide away for a week.0
