You see, the point is that the owner of the car is not liable, and it's the driver of the car at the time who is liable. Of course, they have no way of knowing who was driving, and you at no stage will tell them. They are most unlikely to issue proceedings, but if they do come back and discuss it, and I'll tell you how to get it struck out before the hearing.
Umm, please see my sig, though.0 -

On their smart phone?
I meant with a video camera or something, from their secret hidey place.
Thinking back to who was about, I wonder if the little Hitler was the old fella sitting in the back of his warm camper van, which was parked sideways, straddling 3 parking spaces, from where he'd be able to see everybody/everything that moved.0 -
Once this is over, I might go down and park up beside him ..... and watch for people who might be caught out - and rush over and tell them all.
I can take a flask and sandwiches.0 -

So what? How will they know who it is? Remember, it's only £85 they are trying to get off you. It's not worth their while to employ anyone to doorstep you, as they won't get the cost back. They send out a few computer-generated letters, and that's it. They won't risk £30 on the court fee to issue proceedings, but if they did you'd get it struck out.
The big thing is don't let them know you were driving - which means don't appeal, ofc.
If it's any help to you, I have done this in the past successfully. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

Any wide angle camera lens would not provide enough detail to identify someone. Unless someone stood in front of you and snapped away, there will just be a hazy image. Don't fret so much.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

I'll ignore it - and ignore all letters - and do/say nothing.

If they HAVE video taped you, you can have great fun. Get out your diaries and work out when you have been there before. Send them a data protection act S.A.R. - which costs £10 and a piccy of yourself... don't admit it was you driving... and ask for a copy of all data they have on you, including copies of any CCTV or other photos. Make sure you specify you want video in a vhs readable format (they are legally required to give you the data in a format you can use).
Costs you a flat rate £10... and for every time you've been there, it costs them something like £200 to review it and get it put onto VHS.
They'll send you back a letter saying they don't have anything... machine was out of order for maintenance.
Case closed.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”
