Having been up most of the night, again, I can now confirm I am an "Expert in reading about my new thing". I have a huge collection of books (just reminded me I have one to pick up at the library, but the library's closed on Wednesdays; hope they don't send it away again)..... and some photos of what I'm trying to achieve. I know what I need, the materials, the processes.

I have everything in my head - and no personal space/space to do any of it. Everything I've bought is tucked away in random plastic bags/boxes; hidden away.

This morning another package arrived with some small, but useful, tools in it.

I'm trying to rent a caravan, but having responded to the advert was advised somebody's in it so I can't view it. I wonder why they bothered advertising then. And, I bet, somebody else has got it, somehow, and I won't get a look in even.

So frustrating having literally no space, and not being 'allowed' to do anything at all. I really need a large utility room to myself to get everything out on a bench, order in the equipment I need and start practising stuff for hours on end. This isn't something that can be done from a bedroom, some parts could be, but I'd still be stuck for the final phases, so there's no point starting and just boxing up half finished ideas and stuff.... it's not good for the materials, or the soul.

DD does it mostly and we try to only do about 2 a week so it doesn't clog up peoples feeds.....I know that I 'unlike' some as they post same old same old several times a day.
There is some stupid guff around advising people to tweet 7x a day ... I mean, who has time to find vaguely interesting things 7x a day??! It is a full-time job all that stuff really if you let it be.

Getting a blog going in the next few weeks too..going to be run by a freelance journo who will do it as a project on our behalf. I would love to do it myself but my writing style is not right plus I am OCD with production and would end up blogging about how 370 units of the key style this month this month turned up from factory last week and it looked like the hems had been finished with a combine harvester.
:) Not quite the stuff your target market wish to hear I guess; I'd like that style of writing, it's "real" and not full of annoying marketing hype.

So, all the deliveries booked (to seriously 'posh' shops) had to be cancelled....which is A Very Bad Thing.
In fact, the factories will one day, turn me into a mad crazy woman for sure.
I am seeing a manufacturing agent tomo am who makes jersey for companies like Ted Baker in Turkey. Not massively cheaper than UK but way better finish/quality for the price point.
See...I can't write my blog cos it would read as above and the customer doesn't want to know about all that stuff.:o
OH NOES - UR GOIN FURREN!!!

I almost wish I had face book to keep up with fc's business goings on now.
    Only almost though I hope.

I HATE Facebook with a passion. And it scares me the way it seems to continually try to sneak its way into everything I do. I try to keep everything separate. If I join a Pie Recipes Newsletter, I don't want everybody on Facebook to see that, if I'm trying to keep my Facebook completely blank except 4x a year when I find myself in there and I post 2-3 random comments on friends' walls because they said something funny.

No trading in once you've changed your mind ....

Well done... I guess, it's not something I've ever done/will do. Nobody asked.

I almost wish I had face book to keep up with fc's business goings on now.

Just make up any old name and link it to an e-mail account and Voila. However, I am 100% you don't have to be a member to have a look as it's a business/public page so anyone can see it...we do vet what pics people post though.......they have to send them to DD 1st.....

I think you only need to be afb member to post a comment.....I'll message you a link and you can see if you can see it without joining. It's not that fascinating really as we don't clog it up with chat....though we did have to explain to a USA customer what and where Essex is today.

No. Not made anything yet. I need space to make stuff - and every time I pick something up I realise the next piece of the jigsaw's missing and I need to buy something else.

I'm getting there slowly though. Once I have my own place (aka space) then I'll be 'allowed' to order the next stuff I need, which includes: tumbling machine/shot, torch/firing bricks, sterling silver sheet/etc, jeweller's saw/files/etc. And, of course, make a photo studio/booth and populate that with things.... and get a camera working well in macro.

So, quite a long way off really.

    I could do that, gis-a-job :)

Not 100% sure what one is though.

Muneh in .... might start to be more than .... muneh out. Soon!!

The factories would drive you doubly mad PN......and you would have to go talk to them and visit them..maybe raise your voice a bit sometimes....they aren't so keen on e-mails and the written word.:D

Is the tumbling machine the one that shines/polishes stones? Sounds exciting that one.

Did you find a winter let?
Are you sure about a caravan? They aren't very secure are they?

...what I would suggest is small, off beaten track commercial property and coomercial is way cheaper than resi now...if I can find £3 per sq ft per annum overlooking the Thames, there must be a small unit with elec and steel bars at the windows (or very secure) locally to you......nicer than a lock-up/garage (as you need good light) available on a monthly in/out deal.
    Why not ask about?
Then you can escape there during your working hours and it'll be your own little haven until you decide what to do.

Not too bad here thanks FC, just doing my normal and being accident prone (burnt my hand and arm the Sunday before last and then fell down the stairs the weekend just gone!) but nothing too bad.

Oh - my pc gave up the ghost but my lovely parents treated me to a new laptop..although I think them treating me to it had more to do with me continually going round theirs to borrow their one...their tea bag and milk bill increased by a huge amount.:rotfl:

Apart from that.....it has been most boringly normal.
How come so accident prone? Is it the back problems?

I read your posts on the boys and they all seem to be ticking over OK esp now the one who was ill is OK.

Hospitals are so stressy.......we have our own NHS tale to tell recently as son had to have an adult circumcision...what a nightmare amd I won't bore you all with the details but 3 times he was delivered to hosp @ 7.30am and the op was cancelled later in the day.
Aftercare was zero so we had to google what to do in terms of bandaging etc and then he split the stitches (unavoidable at his age really....as it's an involuntary moveable body part) and then got an infection...however all healed up now but he's still on a no nookie ban for another 2 weeks.
