Cold here too, so cold I have my halogen heater on and the central heating only clicked off 50 minutes ago.
It has been a long week and to add to everything, I am having a sofa which belonged to my sister in law....there was me thinking it was going to be weeks until I would get it and then they tell me they will be delivering it on Saturday.
So one ill child, a shattered me and probably eldest away at the weekend and having to try to manhandle an old sofa out, sort things out and get the newer one in!
And there was me hoping for a chill out weekend...well after doing the final round of Aussie Champs updating anyway. We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Dedication. That's what you need. If you wanna be a record breaker
Ya got to say, she is certainly a pit bull... 25 years fighting the banks.
Crikey, that's a price to pay for fighting foreclosure for 25 years, all the windows are boarded up. It must be a horrible place to live. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? Most moles are not cancerous, any doubts, please check next time you visit your GP.

25 years mortgage free, when she was too ill to work anyway... I dunno. There's no safety net in the states, she was broke, and if she was reposessed she would have ended up completely homeless.“The ideas of debtor and creditor as to what constitutes a good time never coincide.”

Thanks
As you know, DD1 works for a charitable trust in Brum. Doesn't rate the council. Her bloke works for it.
I'd better shut up! I've signed.0 -
I have caught up again. And signed the petition as well. I was shocked to see such a huge cut on the news yesterday.
Transplant's girl's family has been on regional news as well, the NHS certainly has it's failures and tragic catastrophes, but worked spectacularly well this week for her. Your NICs this week went on flying specialist surgeons to a dying girl's bedside which has hopefully saved herIf I ever feel disappointed at where my money goes, I just apply the £s in my mind to things and people that I like. Not much help at all when you are grieving a tragic loss, admittedly.
Not meaning to relate it to tragic loss at all (sorry)... our/my cat died overnight. I have dealt with issue by talking with people all day to keep my mind off it, drinking chardonnay from late afternoon onwards and wailing intermittently. If I keep it up for a few days, it might work. She was very old, a senile little old wreck who has literally defecated on everything we own for the last few months. She was fine last night, ate all her dinner and shat in the hall. But I've had her for just over half my life and she was my last link to precious people not here anymore. It feels more than a bit weird not to have her, despite her acquired habit.
DD has been quite upset. I told her that she'd had enough of being poorly and had decided to go and see our other cat because she missed her. When we got home from school, she was very literal; asked me where she was and then immediately said 'Oh, she's gone hasn't she?' as if Cat had just decided to pack a knotted handkerchief and head off into the sunset. Makes me smile a little bit; I hope she did do that.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

I'm feeling delicate today, had a complete meltdown trying to attend my new evening class
God I was in a state of complete collapse (I'd even had a tearful episode or three).
The College isn't set up for people like me. The campus is referred to by name in letters, but when you get there it doesn't use that name at all. There are maps, but they are all arty farty, faded and none of them say "you are here". So I did a lot of coming/going, parking a few times, wandering round in circles, getting distressed at maps, before leaving the whole area and coming back again. I had a room number, and the room numbers were in number order, except that one didn't exist. It was all down to people knowing where they were going and I didn't.
To cut a long, hideous, horrendous, story short .... I made it - and got on great, loving it.
In tears now though at how useless I am at just achieving simple things out in the real world. It should be easy, but they don't put signs/labels on places. The feelings, the aching inside of not being able to function outside of my known zones, without meltdowns/tears, it's all just horrid. Lots of horrible distress/meltdown experiences last night just trying to find the right room, lots. It hurts to think of them so blotting it out now. Nuff said....0 -

I'm so sorry about your cat . Your description of her eating a good dinner etc sounds as if she did not suffer.
Your mention of the spotted handkerchief made me think of a feline !!!!!! Whittington marching off to seek fortune and adventure.
Not sure if the dodgy looking hug is appropriate but have one anyway.:grouphug:"This site is addictive!"
