I watched it but didn't like it. If you can't say anything nice....
Actually I just found it depressing.0 -
Was that the Mary Portas thing?
If so, yes I watched it and found it interesting although I thought the shop was already doing a lot more positive things than others anyway...they certainly had the smile and greet thing down to a fine, if scripted, art.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.

Nice people, hope I'm not a pain, or boring you all, but can I beg as many of you as possible to sign this petition for Birmingham CAB please?

Done. Getting rid of CAB is a retrograde step. I often work in a library in an area of relatively high deprivation. The CAB is constantly mobbed and we get people coming in all the time asking for advice because they can't get into CAB. We'll do what we can (pointing to CANS notes, relevant guidebooks, other community organisations etc), but the point is that we're not trained to help people fill out DLA forms, give debt guidance etc. Often these are people at their wits end in tears, sitting in front of us, tearing our hair out trying to work out to get support for them when we only have an inkling where to start. Then a few weeks later you can feel even more sh1tty when the person you tried to help died because they didn't get help (extreme case, but it has happened to me).
Get rid of CAB and people will end up back at the government's door seeking help, only this time they'll need more support because they won't have the crutch of the CAB to oil the wheels. Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I know what you mean. It's interesting what MQoS suggested though. The designing home sets and dressing them idea is one that Ikea invented and has been very successful at. Any time you visit an Ikea store think about the books and toys that are left lying around dressing the space, they are not there by accident. Also, space planning exists in just about every other aspect of the furniture industry other than this, so its about time. I didn't catch though whether they had addressed the £16 a day basic wage. That's a big driver of over-promising.Please stay safe in the sun and learn the A-E of melanoma: A = asymmetry, B = irregular borders, C= different colours, D= diameter, larger than 6mm, E = evolving, is your mole changing? I like this one...obviously ours has wooden windows not stone mullion and lead...and not that yellow colour on the walls, or those ghastly chairs. Or the unpainte wood. Or the lamps. I quite like the light fitting. And the socket plates. But isn't it lovely?:D0 -

You are not a pain and I am not bored.Do you know anyone who's bereaved? Point them to https://www.AtaLoss.org which does for bereavement support what MSE does for financial services, providing links to support organisations relevant to the circumstances of the loss & the local area. Oh, and wear your seatbelt. My kids are only alive because they were wearing theirs when somebody else was driving in wet weather with worn tyres.0 -

Have signed it.
The local CAB was invaluable when I had to take an employer to an Employment Tribunal, without them, I would have been completely lost.We made it!
