    Yes, still at M&D.

Renting a room isn't an option. 99% of people advertising rooms to let don't want somebody old enough to be their mother, who stays up all night and crouches in the garden with a cigarette and doesn't leave the house :) And I have speshul issues that mean if I shared I'd have setbacks, I am needing to get away as I need my own space as I've gone into shutdown/hermit mode, I need to be able to do stuff the way I want to and when I want to.

I can up the self-employed, that's why I need my own space, so I can focus.... but while I can try, trying doesn't guarantee success.

London's off the radar now. Partly because my previous car was old and I didn't mind leaving it parked up for 3 months, but now I have one worth 6x as much so not keen on having it sitting around.... and, the offer of a flat disappeared and has never been spoken of since.

I don't want to miss the sea, I want to keep it close by :) Extended the search to +20 miles but that didn't yield much either.

I might make a "crazy offer" to somebody with a winter let. They want about £2300, I might offer £1500 cash up front for 3 months and they might just take it as it's a winter let so the market is limited for them as each day ticks by. Easter's late next year, makes an initial 3 month trip viable, without it being truncated by an early 'peak season/holiday weekend'

That sounds like a good idea to me........ you recognise things in yourself too about going inside yourself....which is fine if your fine with it but not if you feel uncomfortable about it. Who's going to do the hospital visits when you move though?
Yes, the great unwashed at your door .... and I was hoping you were OK in an upstairs/downstairs kind of way. As they'd not know that your best apron was yours and not provided by the Lord and Master upstairs.... in a really cr4p kind of coded posting way :)

I can't see a problem writing about it as it's common knowledge but the big disruption was the subversive stuff. I don't know of it was written about...I'll go google in a min.
Acknowledged by those up high as very clever but it was easy enough to spot after the 1st time so didn't get a chance to occur again. Security was huge too. The 3 hr shut down cost a small set up like us a lot of £££ (plus all the others like us).

Sadly, these sort of things (now I am an older person) don't achieve what they set out to achieve...apart from some debate in the press and, looking at the bigger picture, I don't see how changes to tax laws will bring more £££ in as the big companies will just set their affairs up in a different way.

I have to say, I didn't think I would ever write or feel this, but I hold him on top in high regard and I understand better now why they are so huge.

Sounding harsh here but ... not my problem. I've more than done my bit, I'm not the only one. Let other shoulders feel some of what I've been carrying over the past 5 years on/off.

If I don't run, the others will have me sink. Something has been said in the past 72 hours that made me realise that others think that's what I am here for. I think I sounded suitably horrified when I cried out loud "NO!! I'm off"

If your income is barely enough to pay your rent, wouldn't you qualify for benefits? Income supplement or whatever it's called. Or do you have too much saved up to qualify?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I actually make that shock smilie face sometimes when I've finished sweeping (I do a bit each day not all everyday) and have to start again.

Tone is red 18century brick...terracotta-ish. Yellow (with a dark blue metre at the bottom) is a safe and likely choice :) Sunny in winter and less glaring than white in summer...it just seems....safe :o

That sounds nice...how huge is this wall?

I can't recall how many siblings you have......are any local?

I can imagine if the others have partners makes it even easier to let the single sibling do all the running around.

We have something slightly similar in that OH's mother is having yet another crisis (which becomes my crisis by default) and, without boring you all to death about it all (it would use up pages and pages) it cumulated with her sitting sobbing on my sofa Xmas day saying
1; ''what a wonderful daughter in law I am *smile*'' followed by
2; 'If I lived with you, I could see you all every day'' followed by OH's brother and sister saying nothing and just shuffling and OH (the eldest) saying
3; '' Of course you can Mum if things are that bad ' *weak smile*

...now I have to confess on here in secret...this was deff not in my Master Lifeplan.

Yeah. Savings. I don't "count" my savings/interest as income, I try to live to my actual income I am earning. I don't see it as "savings", it's "house money, for when I find one" so can't be touched.

That'll take months and months to paint...esp if you have to stickle the brushes into every nook and cranny.
Is it very flaky cos that can look really nice with plants growing up and over them....sort of derelict chic.
