Night FC. Happy Xmas... and don't forget to pop back and tell us more as soon as you've time/inclination :)

I was thinking of you the other week when there were "the troubles" :)
Hoping it'd not impact on things too much.

I am being a ficko as I can't remember how to multi quote whossh...gone right out of my head..........do you mean the sssshh tax riot? Oh yes.... I have inside gossip about it.:D Very interesting event too.....but those on high wiped it out in a snap. It feels funny being on the inside of an event like that too.

Sorry to hear about redundancy Micheal S...but being aboutwith a fresh new baby on the scene could be good for a while.
But good news for Treliacs OH :D

I only managed to read back a page from last time I posted so I will go back. Saw LIR needs ideas for a long thin room? I will have a think.
    Sues wedding sounded lovely too.

...and that is as far as I got......but I have a whole hour all to me now.....so I will potter back and try to catch up on all your news. My inbox is zzzzzz....heaven.

Why did CT go...must have been more than a fall out with Gen? Maybe she bought a house?

DS....by the sea? Thing is I may die of stress getting the £££ together to do it....which kind of defeats the object (lol). But it feels nice to trade in this way.........like I should have done it this way years ago. OH 's people skills are being very honed at the mo.

Oh and I did my photo shoot today and it was *O M G*. I am giving myself a pat on the back as the vision in my head executed perfectly........very happy. Was stressed as I didn't use models, but pro dancers and the reference was Ballet Rambert. Wasn't very MSE mind...cost a fair whack in the end but it's about selling so will get payback sometime.:o

Here are a couple of reference pics and we managed to do our version (but waaay better and in my new season stuff so diff clothes) and the girls were just fantastic.

CarolT revealed she made loadsa mullah, and then Gen got fed up because CarolT had, apparently, been complaining that bankers make loadsamullah, and CarolT had been (supposedly) pretending to be Mother Teressa rather than Mother Scrooge. So he flamed her. A lot.

    Apparently.

Personally, i think it is a bit of a pity, not really Gen's best day, but then again I have done worse on the forum meself.

Interesting how you get different views on the same thing. I thought the final straw was because she got told that paying higher income tax means you earn a lot more than a hell of a lot of other people so there is no point moaning that you can't manage without child benefit. I think she is rather upset on the house buying front. Having made the massive gamble years back not to buy when she could, she is now in a position when buying could be out of her reach for a long time. She also can't do anything about it for a short time, until she sorts the school thing out in March. So I think hanging around on house buying boards is depressing. At least I hope that's what it is. At the back of my mind I know she has moved to a new area where she may be struggling with no friends in the immediate vicinity and not driving; hope she is coping. Even though we disagreed on a lot of things, she was an interesting person to have around - I wish her well.

I don't really talk to my neighbours. Does that make me weird?

I say hello and good morning and thanks for taking my parcels from the postie and that's about it.

That's about it with us usually. We all have jobs, except the one or two who are retired, and it's a case of having a few words on the odd occasion we bump into each other or, more often than not, waving as we pass by car.

However, 3 or 4 times a year a house/garden party or celebration of some sort is held and we all get together and chat as if we met up every week. Then it's back to normal for the next 3 months.

All very civilised, newcomers are welcomed. Oh, there's a bit of gossip when the opportunity arises but we're generally a nice crowd. :)

    I've been Money Tipped!
    FC123 :):)

I'n back fro website-less pub. Been looking for number to call them and it doesn't exist yet. New business. It was, hic, very nice. A bit squeaky clean, a bit ''toomuch''. who heard of stainless steel bar in a country pub? And heated floors? (owner is not a European and it shows) but very nice, friendly, and not hideous. Hic.

We drank with people we already knew though. hic. I grinned at people and we were obviously being spoken about though. I don't know whether the new people or the new pub was more exciting. ;)

So, here I am, looking to move.... and I've spent HOURS online looking at places to rent, to move to. Now, I'm being a bit picky as I want to be in a safe area and I want off road parking, so having to completely dismiss the "doss houses" that are available to rent (ex hotels now renting out rooms on a weekly basis at cheap as chips prices), but beyond that I was finding rents high.... so I thought "I know, I'll check the LHA rate, compared to where I am now" - £560/month is the LHA rate!!! How much???? £560 and add on £200 for council tax and bills and that's nudging £800/month for a roof over my head. Well, on a 'slow month' that's my basic (pre-tax), so bit hesitant at moving forward.

Rents are way too high. £560/month to a couple's only £280/month apiece, easily affordable. £800 ..... can't see a way out of it. There are allegedly jobs in the area that I could at least apply for (even if I don't get them), so it seems like I'm caught between a rock and a hard place. I have to pay that much out, to gamble on getting a job.

Spherical things, that's the only word for it.

£800 for a roof over my head. Outrageous it is.

Are you still living with M+D?
Why not rent a room somewhere instead that should be cheaper and it's only temporary afterall. 6 X £500 is a fair investment in yourself....and if nothing comes up, you could just go back home for a spell. It's right to be cautious and hesitant but nothing ventured and all that......can't you up your self employed income any more so you won't need to look for a job?

Is london not an option any more? Mind you, it's hardcore up here...I forgot how it buzzes one out....I have been back 6 months and haven't stopped buzzing since..........and I miss the sea really badly.
I've just read a post on another board on MSE that agreed that the boards with debate or discussion in the title were more likely to have racist posts in them. I really feel very sad that we have such a reputation. :(

I had a moment one night reading something and suddenly thought the board was totally bizarre ........it was a couple of months back....I mean really wierd, the topics, the white horse/ghouls/asheron ....bonkers stuff. The only sane thread was this one.

Again, how things appear to people. I presumed she got upset because everyone was having a go at her for moaning that she would lose child benefit. Also, she went off in a strop when she was told she couldn't take it as well as she could dish it out.
