Hiya everyone
I have had a lovely day off work, making the house messy and doing lots of sticky stuff. But before all that
Wow Tru that ‘thing’ looks fun, whatever you do with it
Awwww shame you can’t see your DD JackieO
NPM glad you got your hair done
Lamewolf I stick the arms of my glasses in sandwich bags when I dye my hair¸ just don’t answer the door
Welcome back flutterby, glad you had a good time
V8 a hug for you because you sound really stressed
Re the post, I think it is because it is not getting through, our office is next to our sorting office and Mon and Tues there were loads of postmen standing about, looked like they were waiting for it to be delivered to them. We didn’t have any post at all at work on Tues and should have had loads, as I knew the postmen were there and waiting I took it that it hadn’t come through.
My first day off work - read the forecast, said heavy snow in the afternoon so decided to go to the co-op which is only a 5 min walk away as needed bread, and [STRIKE]fags and wine[/STRIKE] a few other essentials incase I couldn't get out again. My hair has been driving me mad this last week so walked into hairdressers near there on the offchance they had had cancellations due to weather, they had so fitted me in there and then :T. While I was in there the snow came, very heavy, this was only about 10 o/c so not really afternoon grrrrrrr, so when I got home hair did not look that great due to flat hat hair  but it looked nice before I got kitted up for the walk home
Have spent most of the afternoon making 3 x these I like to make what I call silly pressies as extras for when we do our early xmas dinner when OHs kids and granddaughter come, these are for the girls, the boys will have mini sweety trees. Have also made a headway on part of my mums xmas present, she gets really stressed when she can't get cards for people's birthdays etc so I have got loads of cards to cover all occasions, I wanted a nice box to put them in, couldn't find a nice one so got an ok one and I am decorating it. Am glad OH isn't home tonight, he would have a fit, the whole house, bar the bathroom is in use with stuff, I will carry on tomorrow and have a huge tidy up if he is back tomorrow night
Hope you all have a good evening xxxwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

RANT ALERT!!!!!!!!!
Sorry I am another ranter !:(
DS's School is starting to really get to me now and if there are any A level teachers on here maybe you could give me some advice please.
Basically they are saying that they don't think he will pass his exams even though he has started his course work this week and are threatening to kick him out of sixth form  He is not the only one either, I understand that 75% of his physics class have the same letters and hassle. I thought it was a school's responsibility to teach the children and help them to get through their exams but evidently it is easier to get them off the course so that they get their glowing 99.7% pass rate in A levels even if there are only a few very bright children sitting the exam.
I heard that one of the schools in Luton got a 100% pass rate with only 1 child actually sitting the exam - So don't ever trust a school that says it has a good A level pass rate:mad:
Phew! Rant over you can come out nowhonest
How did he do in his AS physics? How are the school to know how he will fair this year before he's even done an exam! Silly.
Physics A level is something a lot of people struggle with, the drop out rate from AS to A2 at my college and my sister's school was ~80%. There's only so much teachers can squeeze into the lesson so if your DS is struggling and they let him carry on, he'll have to do a lot more work at home. Sometimes it's worth dropping a difficult subject that you might only just pass and focusing your time on other subjects.
Whatever happens, good luck and give the school an earful!Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
Thank you all for your replies and I will pass them on to DH who is going up to the school tomorrow it is such a lovely community on here x x xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Yes I am really sad about that as I had bought her a special suprise present.
Plus this afternoon I had a phone call to say my big brother David who lives in France is in hospital with a heart attack He is having a stent put in tomorrow hopefully, and if that fails its a by-pass for him as one of his arteries is blocked.I managed to get through to the hospital and with some of my forgotten school girl french got through to his room.I spoke to him and I hope cheered him up a bit.Our eldest brother died of heart dicease 8 years ago at 64 so David is a little nervous to say the least. So if anyone want to say a little something to the big guy tonight I will be very grateful as he is my only surviving brother and although I don't see him a lot because of how far away we live he is a good chap with a heart as big as Texas (even if its doesn't work too well at the moment )
youngest Dd turned up with my three youngest DGS this afternoon and she managed to get some milk and crackerbread from tesco's just in case I was running short .We all had a good game of scrabble and the boys were great playing out in my back garden making 'snow angels'
Hope everyone is o.k. and keeping warm

JackieO - so sorry about your brother - I'll say one for him tonight (((hugs))) x x
just got back from work and winding down before bed. The sausage casserole went down well with DH and DS - no cooking for them and it smelt lovely when I left for work.
had some good news from a fellow old styler who doesn't post very often - her dog had what the vet thought was an agressive cancerous growth and she's just found out it's an infection that can be treated so she's over the moon:j:T
just going to finish catching up, take care all xDo what you love :happyhear0
