Morning all (from somewhere underneath a snow drift!), we must have had a good 6 inches again last night so everywhere is white. I live on a main A road and that is also white - complete with non 4x4 cars tearing past at way too fast a speed.

Stuck in for another day today - DS1 refused to pull his sledge yesterday and ran home over a road, so he's not going out today unless he's in the back garden. DS2 is running around in barefeet, so he'll be chilly soon. Tea today will be something out of the freezer - had coconut curry last night - so might be spag bol tonight. I need to lock myself in the bedroom again to get some work done as I can't into the office. Children driving me MAD - grrrrrr thank goodness I'm not a teacher!!!
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

According to the local news we had 14 inches of snow yesterday and more has fallen since then.

I'm going to try to walk down to the charity shop where I work today-I only work there two days a week.

I do find all this snow very unsettling. My meeting yesterday was cancelled but instead of doing something constructive like clearing out the kitchen cupboards I spent most of the day flitting about the house doing a bit of sewing, a bit of scrapbooking et.

I seem to spend a lot of time staring out of the window at the snow!

NPM Weather Outlook for Sheffield for next week here

For anyone ever wanting a 10 day outlook (no guarantee of accuracy) I start with Yahoo weather, here enter your town or city, then press on the extended outlook box.

We are hoping for a thaw as due to be out with the 'van next weekend!!

Don't think we have had much more, but it is still very cold. ****Correction, DH says we have had more but it is not snowing as heavily as it was ***

    Be back later. DG

NPM I hope everything gets sorted for next week ((((((Hugs))))))

I am in west sussex, just up the coast from B'mouth we have had at least 10 inches overnight, and still coming down

Thank goodness dd's school is shut, had to go and collect her last night, as the trains were not running, it was a hairy journey , at least I dont have to worry about her today, she will be safe and warm.

I have got to try and get into work, its a really busy time for us at the moment, so will have to try.

Dinner tonight is pizza and chips, and we are supposed to have a sainsbugs delivery, but not sure they will get through to us.

NPM, my heart goes out to you, I do hope it all clears and you can go ahead with your wedding, you will laugh at this is years to come, but it must be very stressful for you xx

Right, better go and try and get to work, have fun all xx

İ just heard that people are panic buying which is causing forseeable food shortages--as a kid i remember working as a cashier in a supermarket;the run up to the 25th dec was a nightmare buying frenzy and as soon as we re-opened on the 27th the same people were there with piled high trolleys. heavens knows how much these people have in their stock cupboards!

We must have had about 30 inches since it started problem is its just not melting so its building up and building up the places where people are clearing the snow are higher than the cars and the roads around the country here are really really scary
Well off to try and get to work see how many hours that takes me

Didn't get time to read yesterdays thread and am off to work later but first I'm waiting in for a man to come and put a new bedroom door on DSs room then I've got to fetch DS from his girlfiends and take him to work at Morrisons.
I'm going to put a sausage casserole in the SC for their tea, get mine at work.

Have had a quick tidy up just need to vac downstairs and do a bit of ironing. Want to find time to start wrapping too but it might have to wait till the weekend.
