    Morning All!

We had snow overnight.:snow_grin Nothing too exciting, only a couple of inches. Very icy underfoot though and I slipped twice on my walk into work! No injuries though!

OH and I went shopping last night and stocked up so we don't have to venture out in the cold.

Not much going on today. Will probably write out my Christmas cards tonight ready to send tomorrow. I'm doing a corned beef hash tonight too! Must be popular snow food :D

Have a great day all, keep warm!

    Morning everyone

A bit more of the white stuff here, but nothing compared to what you have 'oop North'! My sis lives in Peak District, on a farm, and she's sent me some awesome pics.....whereas my back yard looks like its had a dusting of icing sugar and not much else - cat's not too keen on it though :D

Managed to get the temperature in living room up to 15 degree's this morning - yay! And heating on timer now, rather than on all the time, which is progress. DD is still off school with horrible cold/cough though, and Open Uni assignment deadline is racing towards me. Think she'll have to sit and watch DVD's today so I can try and press on a bit.

OS today - well, I've used up ALL my leftovers from the fridge, so time to make something new. I've got some pork which I'm going to pop in the SC and make a nice casserole (some old apples lurking, they can go in too). DH works for an airline, and his 3 day trip has been cancelled, and when he doesn't fly he doesn't get paid, so thats about £500 we'll be short:eek: - hopefully he'll be able to make it up later in the month if there's some overtime around.

NPM: fab news about the hairdresser, hopefully this is a sign that everything will work out just fine and that you will have a magical day next week. Keeping everything crossed.

Hester - great news about tax rebate - what a fab early christmas pressie ;)

JackieO - what a shame you can't see yr DD today :( hopefully this wretched snow clears quickly and you can make up for it soon

To everyone else - stay happy and warm,:D

Oh, and thanks for all the carols....just the best bit of christmas I think, I looooooooove carols:D
Debts at their highest: £37,500
Hope to be debt free sometime in 2013 :D

Who thought I'd be able to use the half a banana lying in the fridge, one of the wrinkly parsnips and some of my glut of dates to make... a cake?! my agar agar might even come in handy! http://teafactory.wordpress.com/2009/01/20/parsnip-cake-vegan-gluten-free/
Sounds delicious and very healthy, I'm off to make a small one and will report back :)

AFternoon all! We finally have snow!! so OH, friend and i took the dog out bright and early to play.

Got my first pay slip from my temp job today. not bad considering i only worked 20 hours last week. I'm hitting targets which mean if there is overtime on the weekends I can work them so if there is oppertunity i will definately take it. The snow is not bad enough for me not to get to work, so will go to town shortly.

I bought myself an ipod touch as an early birthday present on monday and it's broken already.. won't upload any music so need to return it!

Not much OS going on today. OH and friend are round as neither can work today so i expect they'll want to do pub lunch - might be able to convince them to go to shop and i can do tuna baguette and chips here for a quarter of the price instead!! Shame i can't provide fosters on tap too or we'd be quids in!

I can't believe it's nearly friday again already!!

Hugs to all who need them, hope everyone is nice and toasty!

i need to dig something out for tea tonight as i am sick of the months worth that i cooked this weekend..... so i may have an omelette or a jacket spud with bacon bits, and stuff...

i will get some lovely staetk out for tomorrow to stick in the slow cooker, and may even treat the stew to a nice bottle of dark beer ala Nigel Slater last night on the TV....

i have a shed load of cleaning that i need to get through, but that will clearly wait - (i HAVE to stop thinking this).....

i will also need to get some of my pesky christmas shopping done or people will be getting coal for prezzies - although getting coal would probably be just as much of a mission as getting to boots!!!!!!!!

i might walk home through town tonight as i am starting to get a bit concerned by the lack of shopping that i have managed to get done... even if i only manage to get one ticked off it's better than now...

  • Afternoon all,

At last a few moments to chill and have a cuppa! Walked home from school with DD surrounded by snowflakes yesterday, put us in a real christmas mood so up went our tree :D then snuggled with christmas movies. Woke up to snowflakes this morning but sadly they are no more :( Apparently things are set to get worse for the uk but i think we've had our lot. There wasnt even enough here to close the schools,im a tad disappointed but consider us lucky after seeing news reports about some areas.

Not much planned for the rest of the day. School run done (mums doing pick up),WM on and will pop on radiators after, hoovering done, and popped to morrisons after dropping DD off for bits. Im sure theres something i could do...but half hour catch up on here first me thinks! I also applied for 2 more jobs online this morning so fingers crossed!!

Tea will be pasta with HM tomato sauce also found two sauages at the back of the freezer last night so gonna chop them up,fry off and add. Will make up a salad too.

Hope you are all keeping warm and well x

    Afternoon All,
More snow here overnight about same as JackieO & it's still coming down. I just want to stay snuggled up on sofa but really must do some baking & sort out dinner:(
Had a lbm this morning:D the birds water that I refilled at 7am was frozen again by 9  so I dug out my fondue set, stuck a 4.5 hr tealight in the base, stuck a morrisons bucket over it & put a large plastic plant pot saucer full of warm water on the top & it hasn't frozen after a couple of hours:T & it's being well used. We have got a pond with a waterfall that is struggling on as well so hopefully the birdies will be fine:) have put plenty of food out as well.

Keep warm & safe everyone x
