A very warm welcome to the thread, LolaLemon. It's lovely to have you with us. biggrin.gif Have fun saving in 2011. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 3 of page 1. Please read through posts 1 & 2 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. NB. Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much.

Congratulations angelsmomma on the John Lewis voucher win!!! :T:T It mightn't be anything to do with SPC, but it's gaining money, just like I did with my YouGov £50 money from doing surveys for a couple of years. I'd recommend them to anyone, it might be slow, but you do at least know on receiving a survey that they'll want you to complete it ALL, unlike many others!

Well done LC 2, you too majjak!

Must push off for a little one, be back soon.

Sue x Anyone else wishing to join, please say the word, you're most welcome.

I would recommend too, I know what you mean about the others as soon as I have reached the minimum amount I am closing my accounts with a couple of the others as I never seem to qualify (after giving loads of details of course).
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

I've already been doing this for about 2 months, can I still join for next year? I'm not going to be cracking open my pot yet because it's not heavy enough, so I consider it a bit of a head start for next years!

My strategy is pop all coins less than 50p pieces in every night, then all loose change on a Sunday, so I start fresh on Monday morning with notes. This does occasionally backfire and force me to dip in towards the end of the month, so I've tackled this by having a sealed jar for silver coins, which I can't get into without destroying, and a large bottle for coppers, which I will allow myself to change for 'real money' should I need to.

  • Hey allllllllllllllllllllllll!!!!

My tin is getting change put into it very little at the moment, not even got change for some reason! Payday on the 22nd so possibly will chuck a £20 in there. Had £20 from TCB but not sure weather to pay it straight off my card orrrrrrrrrrrr into the tin???? My fella has started his tin off but doesnt do forums or blogs or anything that isnt fishing/rugby/car related. So hes doing the challenge but wont be here.

Think there is about 50p in a my tin at the moment but I do have all year. Sparky was thinking about doing the £2 tin like you did last time, I have a jar that says if I fill it with £2 coins then it will hold over a £1000 sounds great?! Thanks for the comment on my diary, im really hapy whre ive reached.

Good luck to u all xxx

Hi timbstoke - The answer to your question is - of course you can, it makes perfect sense to do it that way. In actual fact, as you'll see from above, I've already added you to the list of members so keep saving well, then next December the 1st we all come to this thread and declare our savings. I always start the next one on a different thread, but I always put a link through from the one we've been on so that everyone knows where to find the new thread. Any other queries, please ask.

Thank Heavens it's not me alone that they're picking on then angelsmomma! :D Seriously, I know many people are complaining of exactly the same thing, so it isn't just you & I!!! ;) I've given the others the elbow too.

I've no idea what the TCB is short for, Applecider, but as it's to do with a credit card, then I'd definitely put the money towards paying that and not in your tin! It makes sense when you think about it.

Well done on your clunk, nickynoo!

Good for you also, GBN! It really is good to see your name more often again. :D

misskaytee, your sentence: "Ive not been getting much change as i have not been spending!" applies to me totally, so I take it we must be so very good!!! :D :j

As you can see from my sig, I have a few bits and bobs I need to pay off quickly :o (high interest) so it'll only be small change being put away for the time being.

That's the very best thing to do majjak, work on the one with the high interest first - then put any small change in your pot. Well done! :T

Dreamer, see what scubaangel says to advise you about your monthly bank left-overs. Some good advice there!:)

Well done on what I'd guess is a small pools win, sparky, is that right or was it change after you'd paid for this week's?

See you in a while folks.

Also 2p went in as i found it hidden amongst some reciepts in the coin bit of my purse :D:D:D
