Hi Willow and good to see you again! Yes, same number and no rejoining needed. All the best!

A warm welcome to the thread Fiasco55. It's lovely to have you here with us. biggrin.gif Have fun saving in 2011. You'll find your number at the bottom of the list on post 3 of page 1. Please read through posts 1 & 2 as it'll let you know exactly what to do with the challenge. Please pop your number on your sig, it helps so very much.

Really enjoying this challenge, only managed 11p today but every little counts!:j
    A delight to read loveGSDs!!

Well done with the Secret Santa success, fishcakes. Also, your idea to pup "At least £1 a day" in your pot is a great idea, it at least ensures you of a fair amount next Christmas.:)

Ruby1968 - it's a joy to see you back again. It'll be good to see your Target on SPC 3 too. :D

As you say PloddingAlong - 3p is good!

Be careful with putting your Tesco clubcard fob, Juno, he might even just chuck it thinking it's nothing to do with him! Well done on the gift certificate.

You've quickly picked up on the idea of saving, mischiefbec! :D

Yep, henna, that'll be ok. We had T£sco vouchers included before.

You're away now then, dreamdreamer onwards you go. :T

I'm pleased you've sorted that shrapnel out, mummytummy, not a bad amount either.
    Quick question about terrimundi's.....

How can you open them without smashing them/get the money out? I have seen a cowprint one (which is clearly destined to be mine!!) but will never want to break it. Ever!

Get a knife at the ready FF then tilt it to the side and have yourself a ball as you gradually see it slowly pouring out. So well worth it all to not have to smash the blessed things as those that sell them wish you to do - they must think we're a £1 short of a Terramundi!!!
Thank you Sue for the spelling correction!! :T I've just looked it up in my dictionary (the Chambers ) and its in there spelt both ways! It says its a colloquialism from the 1960s. I never knew that!

Thanks a lot for that Doingmybest, that's both of us learned something...we'll probably never need it again!!! ;)

Don't deny yourself a Terramundi pot, frasersmum, I couldn't bear one either - IF it wasn't painted, but have you ever handled one? If not do so as they're totally different having been painted.

No small change for me today, so felt guilty not dropping a coin in the jar so in a £1 coin went..... That feels better!!

Oh, I just love that pure dedication kochi1! :j

Well done, Sarah, I can see T£sco vouchers will be making up most of the Totals next December! :D

Have a wonderful Thursday everyone - and keeep warm!

  • Hi all,

I'm really interested in joining the sealed pot challenge and hope I'm not too late! I'm really determined to pay a large chunk off my debts in 2011 and this sounds like a fun way to make another contribution towards them.

I'm going to be really cavalier and pledge that I'll save £365 in 2011. Hope I'm not eating my words at the end of next year! :rotfl:

    Good luck to all xxx

  • Ooh, two posts in one night, get me!

Just logged onto my internet banking and realised I had saved £4.65 using Lloyds "save the change" so far this month! So I decided at the end of each month I'll withdraw whatever is in there and add it to my pot rather than just spending it! :j

I love this thread - it's so friendly!

That was lovely to read dreamdreamer, but it's people like you who make it happen, after all I'd be doing precious little sat here by myself. :(;)

    Best wishes all.

    Hia,
After reading the first page I would really love to join.
I've not long joined MSE (dont know why i didnt sooner!) but it is very addictive! i havent been to bd before 2 am in over 2 weeks now, reading all the posts that im interested in!

A little about me. Im a single mum of a 3 year old who just turned 28 (yesterday), I have a mortgage and a £3000 credit card where roughtly £2000 is interest! I'ma full time student studying social scienes at Glasgow Caledonian Uni, I'm trying to get my funding sorted, I have a really bad tendancy to bury my head in the sand when it comes to money - for anything, good and bad!

I'd like to join so it motivates me to save everyday/week/month with the intentions of taking my son to disney land for his birthday in 2012 (i would say Disney World BUT no way am I going to america when they are 'legally molesting' people who dont want to go through the 'xray' scanners - either way, im not having someone have an invasive foto of my son or touch him when i tell him not to let anyone touch him etc --- sorry this issue just riles me up.....
