  • £2.65 in my pot this week, I love the "clunk" sound of my new pot when I drop money in, I was almost tempted to drop in more!
    Thank you competition posters!

    Hello

I went into town today & had a bit of a mooch round for a suitable pot for this challenge. Everything I liked was silly money , so I went to afew charity shops but it appeared everyone had got there before me!

So, when I got home & actually defrosted, I raked out a humungous glass jar (originally contained my Dad's home made pickled onions). My OH has cut a slot in the lid for me with one of his contraptions in the inner sanctum ( the shed!) & gaffer taped the lid on firmly Harry Houdini style. I then spent a pleasant afternoon sticking pictures & photographs all over it so that I can't see the contents. The pictures are all things to make me smile each time I feed the jar.

Don't know why I told you all that; you're probably wondering the same!! Good luck everyone x

  • Hi LC2 - Yes I'm sure we'll get a special medal as there aren't that many old timers around ;) Talking of the old gang - have Reb or Elsie been in to post their totals Sparky?

OOOOH! holidays, well actually my pottie is paying towards an 8-week adventure I'm planning in September, including Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Borneo, New Zealand and Australia:D:D:D I'm hoping to use BA air miles for my main flights. Very MS:) But Mr LC isn't coming so I'll try to fit something in with him too.

    Where do you fancy going?

    LCxxx

What do you do with the loose change once you empty your pots? I've always tried to spend my loose change because banks don't seem to want to take in large quantities of change and those machines take about 7%

I'd like to join in but wondering whether I'll have a problem at the end having a possible few hundred pounds in coppers and silvers!

Where abouts in the country do you live? I know in our city they have machines in HSBC and NatWest that dont charge a fee - I am lucky that I already bank with HSBC.

Ah, I truly think that's so beautiful and surely is more likely to help you want to save. Good for you, Doingmybest. :D Certainly far more likely to keep on re-using it again that way. I'll bet someone sees that and does the same. I'll bet your Dad will be/would be so happy about it too.

The cash! You won't catch me doing that naughty using money from one year in the next thing

As if juno..as if ;) I honestly had thought you meant the pot, therby saving yourself cash. Would I think anything bad of you????? :A

Decluttering, I'm with juno and hate that empty sound, far prefer the muffled sound of a 1/2 full pot. :j

Well done on your home-made notes box, frasersmum, anything to save money.

Cor...you're out to cover a lot of ground again the, LC, wonderful to look ahead to. HD & I haven't had a holiday this year, but hope to go to France and on to Switzerland in May/June.

Keep up the saving everyone, keep chatting and encouraging us all. :D
