    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Thanks Sue for number

I am using a champagne box, not fully sealed but got a carton inside so do not have to open it all and slide the coins inside. There are quite a few penny coins in there since last time I bagged and exchanged at the bank so that's my starting point.

    Aim for £80

I am not going to keep track of how much I put in but thinking of performing a monthly weighing and reporting it (in kilos sorry to be continental!)

Well i have just emptied my purse and DH's wallet to start my pot off - must have put about £10 in (no idea how much exactly as 2 year old DD put it in so no chance of counting!) She kept asking for more pennies to put in. Bless her, I think she will have as much fun as we will! Have a seperate one for her also for 5p's and coppers.

xmessedupx that tin is great! well done and i hope you have fun saving in it!

    MB x

Phwawww ...you little devil, MB, I advocate us all going through their pockets - to elleviate them making holes in them, nothing more ;) - but you go the whole hog for sure!!! I wonder if mine would notice.....?! Another sort of challenge really! :rotfl::rotfl: Will give it my best shot.

    Lovely job, Jackies. :)

Hi Di, glad to have you over on this one now after putting you total on 3. I understand what you mean Di, but you do always remember the dates. ;)

A good idea with the box, karom, certainly in keeping with being very MSE. :money: A very novel idea with the weighing, saves you knowing but at least gives you an idea after the first weigh-in.

Have decided on using a large coffee jar. I've cut a slot in the lid, and just off to take jar out of dishwasher and seal up.

Sorted through all the loose change around the house, and come up with the princely sum of £3.65 - so off to a good start:j

Why not emiliah, better than forking out on one. As it's a jar you could put or make a covering to go round it so it's nor see through, however, if having the cash on show can motivate you to saving more - leave it as is is. Lots of ways you can do it and all about personal choice.

PS. How about putting some tape, part round jar and glass, round, it helps if you're inclined to be tempted.

    HI All
I am a bit late starting this year only opened last years pots (3 of them)this morning and found a massive £601.33 p.

Very happy as we are off to the sun for christmas and the new year and this will come in very handy.

I have a new pot all ready for this year and popped the £1.33 in from last year as a start off. its wash day tomorrow so hubbys pockets will surely add a little bit more, must say now all my boys have left home , the pocket emptying on wash day is no longer so Fruitful.

Good luck to all newcomers and be ware this becomes addictive.
