    Morning All

Heavy fall of snow overnight, and still snowing now, though the sun is out too ;)

As neither of us work now, and we have enough food in the house, we are not going anywhere, which is letting me get on with damn paperwork I have put off for far too long.

There is about 9/10" of snow on next doors garage roof, but on our outside table it looks to be over a foot, DH is busy taking photos, so will put them on FB later.

I am trying to persuade him to go out and knock the snow off the niger seed feeders so the goldfinches can feed, but he thinks it is a bit oot. I also asked him yesterday to get the wellies into the house instead of garage/caravan, but no joy their either. He will get cabin fever soon and go out as he always does.

I cannot remember who it was the other day who was moaning about her husband tidying up while she was doing anything, mine is the same, even when baking, I go for a spoon and it has been put in the DW.

Ordered a new DW last night ours is making awful noises and is about 11 years old, so as we don't want it to die over Xmas, bit the bullet, due 15th December. An early Xmas pressie for DH. 25 years ago when I went back to work after DS, he said he was OK with it (no choice really) but he wanted a DW, I bought him one but said it was his, to load, unload, etc., which he was happy with and luckily still is.

Right - been distracted by photo loading - now on FB.

    :bdaycake: Thriftlady, miss your posts.

Hugs, Hi5's, Spoons, all round. Stay safe this weather.

It didn't snow much overnight and it looks to be melting, though the metoffice claims it shall be windy with light snow for the next few days.

Have just struggled down to Tesco to get milk as the milkman hasn't got through. The road down to the A57 is really only passable by 4x4s. Saw two ordinary cars fail to get up the hill-one managed to turn round but one driver had to give up and leave her car by the road.Even the main road is only passable with care.I'm glad DH has gone in by train.

Tesco had milk , thank goodness. I do have some long-life but don't like it in tea or coffee. I also got some frozen veg and a savoy cabbage as I expect fresh veg will go up in price if the freeze continues.

I phoned DH at work in Stockport-he says that there are three of them in. Himself, one woman who lives just down the road and another who has children at a private school in Stockport-which is open- and who can't leave until it's time to pick them up.

Pork and leek slice with cabbage for dinner followed by fruit salad. We try not to eat puddings during the week but am tempted to make a sponge pudding today.
  • still snowing in north Kent and blooming cold as well.I'm glad I haven't got to go out today for anything.Youngest DD is coming late this afternoon to put up my decorations as its eldest DDs birthday tomorrow.Where have the last 43 years disappeared to I wonder.I will dig the dekkies and tree out this afternoon DD does the hanging up for me as I have very high ceilings in my house and its not a good idea for me to be hopping up and down ladders (not with my creaky old joints anyway) All the schools seem to be shut and no many folk are venturing out at all.
Just going to sort myself out some lunch shortly I think I will have a couple of poached eggs on toast for a change.
    keep warm everyone

The staple for OS'ers is a bottle of Stardrops, usually around 75p and some White Vinegar. You can get What Vinegar in a spray for 99p at Wilkinsons, but that is not the best price option, look in foreign supermarkets/warehouses or even a big bottle in your nearest Supermarket, I get mine from Makro in 5L bottles for roughly the same price (I think they last ages).

Mix 1/3rd Stardrops with 1/3rd White vinegar and top up with water in an old spray bottle you have and use that for most cleaning purposes. It should work on the scum on a bath, and bring taps up shining. Use a microfibre cloth with it if you have one, if not use whatever you have.

    Congrats Bramble
