Well done on your bargains. :A

I have been sooooo bad!!! I bought an Elemis set online, £90 worth of stuff for £25 (inc 30ml Marine Cream). I've always wanted to try it but it's sooo expensive. I am a bad girl! Right that's it, when I get back to my house after New Year I am gathering everything together and writing a list of it all to shame myself into not buying any more!

Well this afternoon I am a happy bunny.

I got up at 2.00 am on 17th December to buy 2 soap and glory tote bags. One for me and one as a present. All was well, they arrived etc and I checked and gave away one as a present. The other one was for me. The edge was taken off it Christmas Day when I opened to to find some of the shower gel had leaked all over the contents and left a black stain on the bottom of the box.

I rang Boots who offered me 750 points as a compensation but 2 days later were still not put on my card. The .com assistant said they would go on straight away. This morning I emailed them and within an hour I had received a full refund of £25 and I still have the items. I am delighted with this result. I now have smellies which I have not paid for :D

Does this mean I can buy some more (only joking) :rotfl:

    Yay!!!!!!!!!!! :)

footymadgal - Poundland often has the old HE products, I prefer them to the new ones :) HTH!

Thanks for the heads up. I agree with you that the old HE stuff is better than the new.

Tara - i think £90 worth of stuff for £25 is allowed - thats an incredible bargain (assuming that its all lovely and you love it all !!!)

well done everyone - everyone is doing brilliantly !! I need to get myself to TK Maximus tomorrow or in the next few days, Ive not got much shampoo left, and i think Im right in remembering its there that I should be able ot get some "good" ones for cheap???

Thanks for the picture Jacks. I was one of the people who asked for them I think so I thought I'd better pop up and say thanks. I love seeing other people's make up collections. That is a rather lovely looking stash. :heartpuls

Didn't I read somewhere that you do makeovers on single mums and battered women? Can I ask, do you they get the full Bobbi Brown treatment, or do you have a different kit for that? I hope that's not too nosy?

Thanks for all the lists and WIBAs and heads up about sale or special offers ladies, I am only a lurker on this thread but I always find them interesting. :T

It's almost impossible for me to do make up on anybody without a bit of Bobbi Brown! :D Whether it's my daughter or one of her friends for a special occasion, a confidence boost for someone who's had a hard time, been ill, or as part of a pre job interview make over. (or make under in some cases!)

I have a range of foundations and concealers and other make up to use when doing someone else's make up - but the Bobbi Brown style of make up suits most people, and I know the products so well so I always take at least one Bobbi palette, gel eyeliners and some blushers with me as back up because if all else fails I know they will work on everybody.

I get quite cross when people diss make up and say it's trivial. I love the transformational qualities of make up. I think it's pretty powerful stuff.

My TK Maximus (love it! :D) is a bit variable, but basically...yes!

It's obvious to us on this board Jacks xxx that you love your make up. It's all good quality stuff that you use and my does it look lovely :). I don't see anything wrong at all with having more expensive brands, my virgin vie stuff has been going for years now whereas the No7 freebies are all but gone within a few uses. Sometimes, you really do get what you pay for.
*And I'm NOT jealous of your stuff.* I must keep telling myself that :D

  • It is no wonder you people are in so much debt! Have you not heard of Rimmel, Maybelline, Barry M or even No.7?!?!

Why do you feel the need to spend so much money on such trivial things as cosmetics?!

Oh look! We had our very own pet troll and I missed it - shame!

Of course, what JustWonderful hasn't revealed is that he/she has a vested interest in plugging the ranges she names as they are all sold by Superdrug, who are also her employers. If you check out her posting history you will find that she does a fair amount of plugging of that particular store on these forums! ;)

  • Right, tonight I have started on the contents of my Tote Bag. I will not open any other bathing products until these are all gone. I also started on my stash of Sanctuary Facial Wash. The ones we bought when they were £2.47 ish in Boots and you bought 2 and got the orange bag with travel size bottles for free :D

Erm I think I possibly might have 10 bottles to get through so I might be a while
