I applied for a FREE card, put it in an old phone,( it allowed me to dial another phone, so I could get the number). I then had credit put on in an orange shop. The phone was then barred. Customer services advised they needed proof it wasnt stolen, and I had to take in proof of ID to my local shop, or fax to them. Not happy I did that on 16th March. The manager had a template ready he had had so many customers with the same problem. I was told it would take up to 24 hours. I rang orange the next day, and also emailed them. 2nd April, still waiting for a response, or the bar being taken off MY phone.
Perhaps this is the other loophole for not being able to use Orange Wednesday!

Since leaving this post have contacted Orange again - and my sim has finally been activated! No reason for the delay

I have an Orange PAYG phone, which I only use for the cinema. Recently I have texted FILM to 241 several times, and got no reply. I have credit on the phone, and it does work OK for calls. Does anyone else have this problem?

Thinking of getting one of these to throw into an old phone, will use it exclusively for Orange Wednesdays...

Just wondering, since the £5 Quidco deal has gone now, is there anything similar I should go for? More importantly, is it okay to use the phone exclusively for Orange Wednesdays?
