Sadly you were right. I checked my bill this morning and we've had the price increase to £19.99. I phoned to get my MAC and they've given me a £5 per month discount and a month free... Not brilliant, I'm paying £5 per month more than I was but on our ancient unbundled exchange I won't save much by moving... So I've agreed to stay with AOL. At least I get free anytime landline calls and unlimited internet included.

After being told about Increase from 14.99 to 19.99 , and told pay up or leave, AOL wrote to me saying it was was an error , and sure enough my last payment was £15.31 and my speed has gone up from 6 Mbps to 10 Mbps
I'm one happy chap, show's that it pays to complain all you can :money:0 -
I am now paying £19.99 a month until contract runs out in August.
Can you all please tell me whether right now your speed is being throttled by AOL?
As I write this my speed is 0.3Mb - so absolutely no chance of running the simplest of Youtube video stream. The only time I get a fast speed is weekday am and pm till about 5pm.
Please check as you may find you are getting no where near the speed you think.0 -
Time to phone AOL up, if they won't restore the old price (£14.99) it's off I go to BT.
Way to treat a customer of 5+ years AOL0 -

I think the problem arises if you're on an unbundled exchange. The price has gone up to £19.99 for these exchanges - although I have been given a £5 discount bringing it down to £14.99. The max speed I can get on my line is 1 Mbps but they'll only guarantee 512 kbps. That's the problem if you live in the wilderness0 -
Yes this is the problem here as well. Are they doing any work on this ? is there any chance of smaller exchanges being upgraded or anything ?0
