    thanks silvercar.

Yes, I had a massive hassle when buying I tihnk this is the foible of SO.

However, I am going to speak with my sol in the morning and find out exactly what it is that he wants, and what its for.

Im not best pleased with my sol as previously he requested the planning permission docs  and for saome reason we paid for it. I was like, urely thats a search, he should pay for it and my sol said no we pay it to keep things together. I wasnt amused. Especially as I have nil income at the mo and am literally below the breadline. this is money that I simply do not have.

Once I get a flavour of what he wants, if its reasonable, Ill ask for it, if its not, Im pulling out. I simply cannot be bothered with him any longer.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • Unfortunately we won't bw in for Christmas, as described here.

I just hope the seller has been able to move on as they had hoped.
  • I got the call from my solicitors this morning to say that the purchase has completed, and the seller's solicitor has confirmed that the money has been transferred (exchange was yesterday). I'm about to leave to pick up my keys.
:j I'm so excited - thanks for the advice Silvercar! :j

Congratulations 50percent. :) whoo even at this 11th hour someone is getting a new home.

No new at my end again, its gone quiet still waiting to hear from solicitor, he wanted us to exchange this year, still issue of the beetle infestation in loft negotiate when it was picked up on the survey.

I would have loved a date to complete before Christmas, I cant honestly think anything will happen now for at least 3 if we want to move by then, probably another 4.

so now we are looking forward to xmas and deal with the whole house move in jan when solitors open...

I hope 2007 brings us all some luck..

:DCompleted House Purchase And LOVIN' IT:D
  • We moved up north (from Essex) three years ago, but hated it, so decided to move back. Hubby got a new job which began in october so when we went house hunting (late August) we were on the look out for a quick move. Found this oine house, and the woman who was selling it promised us she was chain free, and that she would move in with her partner so that we could move in to the house, but guess what? she lied. We were all ready to exchange and complete on 31 October, but she refused, it later materialised that not only was she in a chain, (2 more ahead of her) but her "partner" was also tying in his own sale!!!!

I was so angry, it meant that my hubby would have to go into rented as his new job was just about to start, to cut along story short, in the end I withdrew our offer, the lying woman had lied to us and kept us at her beck and call for too long.

We ended up putting an offer in on a bigger, better house in a much nicer area, and most importantly, was empty and being sold without a chain!

Now we are waiting to exchange and complete, at the moment we are living in Essex (where we want to be) and staying with my Mum, hope to move in Jan 2007.

The only piece of advice I can offer is, never take the sellers word for anything!
  • We've got all our searches back this morning! Though everything has closed now so nothing is going to happen. The EA swore that our buyer is going full steam ahead & has sent off all her money etc so we should have a survey done early in the new year (god, the house'll be in a real state!). So we're also not worrying, not thinking about it too much & getting into Christmas. Mind you, was pleased to see the search results are all fairly positive - there's a field behind the garden & wondered if it might be a potential problem but apparantly not - no plans to build on it, was once a landfill site but not for years & not for anything bad, so on.

    So Merry Christmas!

Well tomorrow really is last day for this thread to properly continue by its current name at least. I cant imagine anyone moving Christmas Eve.

So all those who moved and contribute to this thread or watch and planning to move, here's hoping you get the place you want and enjoy many years in that new home

All the very best and good luck for the future :cheers
