Hi everybody! Just popped in to say good luck to all those in the process of moving/waiting (because I didn't want to forget you all just cos I'm now a smug "moved-in") :D

Incidentally - my move took 18 weeks in total, despite there being no chain and the property being brand new  and took me right into the middle of my busiest 3 week period for six months, after I'd kept the previous two months almost completely clear of nights out "cos of the move".

    again.

At least I now have a nice comfy living-room suite to go home to (delivered this morning after two weeks of sitting on a camping chair).

    Thanks,
Hope your enjoying your new home, hows the living room suite lol, once we have completed we will need to get a new bed and also new suite so looks like we will be sleeping on the floor and sittin on the chairs, BUT sayin that its gonna all be worth it once we are in..

Just wanna sau, wish you luck and happiness at your new house, dont forget to invite us to your house warming will ya lol,

    Merry xmas,

    :)

  • Shhhhh! I've signed the contract and am exchanging tomorrow...really nervous, as completion scheduled for 14th December BUT on 13th December all our belongings are being taken by the removal company ready for our move to Spain! Should be excited, but won't be until I get THAT call tomorrow to say it's happened!!!!

Haven't been able to hand my notice in at work yet (didn't want to until the exchange), but I have forwarned my bosses......but not told them I will be leaving for good on 22nd December! We booked our flights in November, we got free flights (tax only of £16.00 to pay) so THE BIG DAYfor take off is 5th Jan 2007 - wish me luck!!

Congrats to those who have moved/exchanged, and hello to those who are still stressed.

Still no exchange here, looking at end of this week early next week. The lies that we have been told in the last week are quite shocking, I now dont believe anything the FTB's agent or solicitor says. We are now told that the mortgage offer (supposedly received last week) actually arrived yesterday, and that they still need to sign the contracts (told they had signed last Friday). Their solicitor is on holiday till Monday, and our buyers sol goes on holiday from next Wednesday. Going to ignore it all and go shopping today.

    any updates from anyone?

Well, after umming & haaing I finally found the courage to phone my EA- to ask buyer what his position is. Darent do it yesterday as I was scaaaaared :o

He responded that hes waiting for a document to come back from the HA to say Im allowed to sell my share! Thats all appareently.

So I call the sols, speak to the secretary who says shes about to draft a letter. I said hold off, Ill ring the HA.

I rang the HA and theyve just said "tell secretary to send us an email- we can get your sol to draft it up, and we accept that"

So basically its only an email we are waiting for ( i think)

Is it too early to use one of these

Awww, thanks. The new suite is fab (sofabed and matching sofa) - very stylish, comfy, and defines the space in my living room which was just a largish oblong space including the kitchen. And looks MUCH nicer than it did in the Argos Catalogue.

More to the point, now I've got it, I feel like I can have people round, even though the place is still covered in boxes. I couldn't really invite folks back when all I had was my collapsible camping chair, my piano stool or the floor :o

As for a new bed, I've got one of those too, though I've had that since the day after I moved in.

There are still tons of things I need, like curtains and shelving, plus because I moved from a succession of house-shares there are a lot of utensils etc. I haven't got because I always shared other people's. But other than the saucepans which I ordered this morning (fab deal on the Robert Dyas website), there is now NOTHING I'm lacking which I really can't live without in the short term, which is a good feeling!

Good luck for completing on the 15th... (I wish there was a "fingers crossed" smiley on here, I've wanted to use it often enough - funnily enough, on this board in particular :D)
