FOR CRYING OUT LOUD, I CAN SEE YOU'RE INTERESTED, DON'T YOU THINK I'D TELL YOU IF I HAD ANY NEWS?
BTW, think we'll exchange tomorrow. Vendor's solicitor has finally confirmed she's ready - but now isn't answering her phone :rolleyes:Operation Get in Shape

Got our mortgage offer through today!
Still waiting for EA to chase our buyers solicitors though, not even use that the useless idiots have started searches yet and time is running out for christmas.....Addicted to Facebook0 -
I really appreciate people asking about the house. Let's be honest, the detail is pretty dull - they must like me if they let me go into it for any length of time!Stercus accidit0

Only exciting if you are involved I think.
Our buyers got the valuation they needed and their mortgage offer is being sent out today. They have done their searches but are still waiting for the homebuyers to land.
The one we are buying :smileyhea had the valuation done yesterday so hopefully our offer should be out soon. Did a postal application and havent been asked to prove ID yet, am guessing that will be soon.
Spoke to the solicitor and the searches have been sent off, only thing holding us up is our mortgage offer and the council agreeing to the transfer of the former allotment land.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Good luck Bargain Rzl!!! Let us know when (not if!!!) if you exchanged!
I had the EA called me today at 6.15pm to tell me they are cancelling the viewing we had organised LAST WEEK for tomorrow to measure up the place for furnishings etc because our normal EA is sick. Was mightily p***ed off as I had taken half a day off tomorrow to do this and you would think they could have done it earlier! Also, my mother-in-law is so excited about the new house (bless her!) and she hasn't seen it yet so I almost broke her heart initially by telling her the appointment is off.
Anyway, managed to get them to call the vendors to find out if they would be in so we could do it in the evening and thank god that was OK. It could turn out to be a blessing in disguise as we really need to sort out a couple of small issues with the sellers and I am sick of going through the EA/solicitors! All we have is the completion date and NO exhange so we might try and push the issue tomorrow... Wish me luck! :T

A bit of news came our way yesterday, Vendors Solicitor is suppose to be receiving the title deed pack today (YEAH RIGHT been told this way too many times to believe it now) so we're still waiting and moving before christmas is slipping further awayHouse purchase completed 6th December whole process took 4 months.
Hang in there everyone it is worth it0 -
Good luck everyone!! :j Think we are really getting left behind in the race for Christmas and getting really upset by it all now!
Why is it that although we have moved several times before and the last time only 3 years ago that I cannot remember anything about the procedure!!?? Also cannot remember it all being so worrying..?!!
Just nothing happening here at ALL ......our new house is now empty and all we want to do is MOVE IN!! :rotfl:
(All began with us accepting an offer 8 Sept and all went swimmingly for a while..!!) ...this forum is a great comfort!!0 -

Hi Roma,
I think housebuying is a bit like childbirth isn't it? You forget all about the pain and the stress right after the event otherwise no one will ever have more than one kid! :rotfl:
Don't worry, I am sure things are more likely to happen for you (since it's an empty house you are moving into!) than for us so let's just keep our fingers crossed for one another hey? We all (except one I think!) want to be in there for Christmas!

(The average time for my vendor's solicitor to respond to any single query during this process has been about 2 weeks.)Operation Get in Shape
