    Loads of paperwork done.

    Xfactor and card writing next.

  • Gave up on the cleaning...took DD and the friend whose Nan looked after her during the snow to see Megamind 3D. Would like to say it made me a better person, but it was no dear to take 2 adults and 2 children on a family ticket then it did buy single tickets for 2 adult and 1 child :(

However, girls were happy, the movie was fine (last time I did this it was Tooth Fairy - shudder) and after dropping DD's friend off (a friend who only lives 10 minutes' walk away :D) DD now alleges she is doing homework and the cats are snoring on the sofa.

And the house is still relatively OK - just the stuff waiting to go up the loft and my room to sort out, then I've finished moving in [cough].

Must remember to buy saffron for the buns for 17th, then the tree & stuff this week. Maybe a few presents for the post-solstice festival thingy everyone's wittering on about

It's all vegetarian, as the friends and I are veggie - I will be substituting the mushrooms with sweet potatoes as recommended on the second page of posting by someone whose daughter didn't like mushrooms, as I don't either (it's the texture for me). The recipe is half-way down the page by a poster called fifi I think (read the second page as well, as she has some other recipes that sound lovely too).
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Thanks sexymouse - both DH and I used to be vegetarian, and our visitor is - so works out nicely.

I was just pleased to find a Christmas meal for veggies that isn't a nutroast (they get a bit boring).

Pigbits you do make me giggle sometimes, maybe because you're so lucky like me :)!
Crafty let the salt do the work, have you got dishwasher salt in? I find adding that to rock salt helps when it's thick layers of ice!
Seafarer's are you still no better?!Maybe time to speak to the GP, they do back pain management in Durham includes hydro pool etc. Main roads are pretty clear at the moment around the area, icey but clear
Valli oh that's awful for them to have to deal with, would the air ambulance guys not take him so he could 'wait'' there :( so sad. Well done for helping I am sure it'll have been much appreciated
Shysarah I hate shopping full stop but busy shops just send me off on one!
    Kazw happy Christmas day!
    AnWsMum well done :D
Hex I would send them, be wasteful not to and blame 'senior moments' on any mistakes :rotfl:

Sorry to those who noticed my 'wobble' earlier on facebook. I'm trying not to post too much on there. All the stuff with DPs job etc getting me down. Not just the snow to deal with but the report was out for the taxi licensing and looks like it will be changing which means less work/no work for him if it goes County wide. So I had a total flap about money.... Then realised less money isn't the end of the world, we've had less than we will and managed. For peace of mind I did a paperwork 'drag out' working out what we needed to pay in much more detail, when HP agreements ends etc. Good news highest one finishes sooner than I thought, bad is the other is longer... Pah!!

Anyway decided must try to shake the BD off and thrown him several sticks, thinking of my friends on here and at home things could be so much worse. I could have much more than money worries xx!

Boys seemed to have had a good time then DS1 hit a right mood and started lashing out so had to bundle him in the car and calm him down. Anxiety issues again think next time he'll have to miss lunch time with them as it's causing too much stress.!

While they were out & before we found out about the job thing we went and got a small table to eat at, it's only little and was cheap but should do us for now. Save my carpet hopefully! It needs building which will probably be a tomorrow job, or Monday as the other car needs digging out tomorrow.!

Oh flying, erm, I've managed to declutter a bin back full, bimbled downstairs clearing more child debris and dot to dot styled the kitchen which still needs more work. It's never been 100% since we moved in and I'm doubtful it ever will be lol!

PS being skint isn't so bad,!I've knocked the heating down a degree in another cost reducing measure and it's freezing! I think it's because I know it's colder so me and the boys are snuggled on the sofa with blankets watching a little Harry Potter :)!funniest part was it took them 15 minutes to get in their all in one sleepsuits but they look so cute! DS2 had his legs in the arm holes and everything he said 'look it has gloves' :rotfl:
One day I might be more organised...........

twinmum sounds like a huge success in your house this week - I hope the snowmen helped get you there and now you will find it easier to keep on top of things - well done both of you xx
hex no it would be MSE and not wasteful - if anybody comments on anything then just bluff!!!
vanilla awh thats lovely for DD - that will give her something lovely to look forward to.
kazw oh that was good - I am pleased you got the bulbs planted as well - was it the vicar or the garden person who said you couldnt do it last year? Hope you have a lovely Christmas dinner tomorrow.:D
Aunty you be careful with the ice and the icicles - you dont want to be hit on the head by one!
valli what a star you are :A
life in termoil good to see you posting again
no sign of greenbee today - I hope they are having a relaxing day and sorting things out.
lil_me (((hugs))) is there any possibilty of Dh getting an extra driving job - like for a chemist or a florist or something - like you say we can all manage on less if we put our minds to it and economise - I am sure you will come up with ideas to cut corners - despite all our moaning we are better off than millions of others.

    love and hugs to everyone

Toots, now be gentle with me - haven't done any proper housework in a long time (depression been bad) - will set my phone alarm for 15 minute blocks and report into base with how I'm getting on as from Monday. I'm climbing up onto the wagon as we speak :)!
