Minor need to offload - the electric sander and planer are absolutely doing my head in!:wall:
Work has commenced on the bedroom door; the place is again full of dust, so much that it set off the smoke alarm a few minutes ago!
Obviously, I can't moan at Mr LW; he's doing sterling work to try and get another door done before we have our next canine guest,:A so you guys get to put up with me whinging instead.;)
Ah well, onwards and upwards....:D
I've been wondering how Greenbee is doing today, too.:o
Thankfully, it looks like the snow is starting to melt; I haven't actually left the house for a whole week now!If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I must do some bank account shuffling and print a reference I need to complete for someone.
My good deed...
my neighbours across the road have had a bereavement (his brother, heart attack, cannot be collected by underatker as underater cannot get; doc came by air ambulace) so I went over to offer my condolences to Mr. and Mrs. came out. As we chatted she said she had been unable to pay her CC bill (by debit card) as she's not set up for telephone banking. She's not been able to get to town.
Anyway returned to my digging (working with a neighbour to clear snow from the road) and then, an hour later had a brilliant idea - I could pay her card on the internet from MY bank account.
So I have!
Anyway lots of snow has been moved. I don't expect to see my lawn until March because that's where we moved it to. And it has warmed up and we have a thaw in place. Buses still off though. Neighbours have been to Morrisons (which was like Christmas Eve it was so busy, apparently - they had queue marshalls!) and brought me back bread, milk, fruit juice and *sighs like a happy bunny* wine.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Can't decide what to have for tea. DD is having bacon butties but there's not enough bacon as well. I might make myself a toastie or have some more soup :undecidedCreeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!0 -
OK, I admit I've been pants at flying so am just popping my head around the door to see if I can come back with you guys again. I desperately need motivation!
The house is a bombsite so I guess I just need baby steps to start with so won't be going all out to get my stars; just little and often and I promise not to beat myself up if I can't do even level 1s. I'm teaching baby signing at the moment and Tuesdays is a write-off but will do my best.
Looking forward to chatting again!

Well I am tired, cold but so happy to have finally got out.:j
Was a bit naughty and only a week after tidying out my wardrobe I bought two great new tops that I just had to have. The literally jumped off the rails at me so well, at least I will be looking good. One is a divine black long top from bon marche with a really nice stud decoration on the neckline and onto the shoulder and already i can see it with a pair of bright coloured tights and my boots. Perfect for an event I have to go to in February when I can dress up a bit more.
I also picked up a few more bits which finish off two people and two cat christmas presents. :T
Then we went to Mr M's... Oh my lordy. It was soooo busy I nearly had a panic attack and walked back out as soon as i got in there. :eek:Luckily mum kept me together and I got plenty of shopping done but there is something about a crazy supermarket that seems to freak me out lately and this was super crazy!!
Had fun when I got back i pulled onto my drive and once i had unpacked the shopping i went to take mum home with hers and brrrrrrrrmmmmmmm the slope, the snow, the gravel nope my car was having none of it. Carried mums shopping home and then dad came and helped me move the car later so she is now nicely tucked up warm in the shed. Still the snow is melting, it is raining steadily and I am relieved to have a refilled coffee jar. :rotfl:Coffee was the one thing I was worried about running out of.
Ooooo and when i drove down a back street from town to Mr M's this enormous posh jeep reversed out of side street straight in front of me, forcing me to do an emergency stop.:mad:
I gestured etc and then... :j a police car pulled out of the opposite road and pulled him over for a few words and gave me a smile and wave. So not only a bit of poetic justice but a man in uniform!!
Anyway enough from me for now.. hope everyones doing ok
Hugs, Love and Spoons

Toots - can i have all 5 snowmen now please?Extras
I am so proud of what we have got done today I could cry. I thought the study was the impossible dream but we have chipped away, the desk is decluttered and dusted. The floor has been cleared and hoovered - I really thought all that would take weeks but it was just over an hour broken into 15 min chunks. I am guessing the study mustn't have been hoovered for years so it is a massive accomplishment - there is still tons to do obviously but it should be easy to keep clear now you don't have to climb over the junk to get anywhere.
I can't believe I have done all 5 snowmen and now it is just down to the extras tonight and tomorrow. I will be on the wine tonight to celebrate!
