twinmum07 - :T:T:T Well done! It really does work, just doing 15 minutes at a time. Now the trick is to keep that area clear, while adding a little bit extra (AnW's patented dot-dot method).

Another one here who had a manic couple of hours doing the supermarket shop, along with most of the population of Canterbury, and a fair sprinkling of French (and other) tourists. Please let the online shop work next week - to add to the misery, the store has recently had a refit and been reorganised, so I couldn't find things.

This afternoon, DD and I had an hour or so in town despite the rain, and I have now nearly finished the shopping for my family, ready to take over when we have our get-together next weekend. Just a few items to arrive from Amazon, and a few things from Primark - I'm making my niece a Girly night in hamper, and want a pair of cosy pj's and fluffy socks.

:hello:lady-liberty, lovely to see you here. Thinking of you, and sending warm wishes.

Love and hugs to toots as well. I hope you had a better day today.

Last year I wrote the Christmas cards for the family and didn't post them for various (lazy, disorganised) reasons. Would it be very bad to post the same ones this year and hope I wrote nothing date pertinent?

BIL and SIL2B have been up and asked DD to be junior bridesmaid, DD is so chuffed and can't wait to try on dress's and shoes. :D Their wedding is next year on DD's birthday.

Right i suppose i should look about my christmas cards and make a start on writing them.

Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

Not bad - just a bit risky. You could steam open the envelopes...

Thank you - I am just amazed at how different the house looks, especially in our 'problem' areas!

    Evening all,

A special hello to LadyL - I knocked on your door earlier (around 3pm) as I was in the area, but I guess you were asleep - hope I didn't wake you up. The reason I was in the area, was I decided this morning that I'd had enough of waiting around for supposed bridesmaid to let me know whether she was still coming to the wedding, and turned up on her doorstep at around 9.30am. She was still in her dressing gown, but at least I got to speak to her. I also got the dress back as she told me she definitely can't afford to come. It was all done amicably though, so I didn't have to worry about confrontation or ill-feeling. In a way, I'm relieved as we won't have to worry about her being in the other hotel on her own, although it would've been nice to have someone at the wedding. One of Moon's friends may come out, but tbh they are just as unreliable, so I'm not counting on it.

Just got off the phone to the friends that are coming to dinner on Friday night. I've been worrying about the menu again, and did some more research online. Purely accidentally, I stumbled across a brilliant main course that we can have with salad, as the starter and dessert aren't that light. So, we are having:

Starter - Brie soup with cranberry toasts
Main - Chestnut and Red Wine Pate en Croute with babyleaf salad
Dessert - Mincemeat bread & butter pudding

Luckily I'm only working in the morning on Friday so will have plenty of time to make things, and if I'm not working on Thursday, the starter can be prepared the day before (according to the recipe). I called the friends to check whether they like the sound of it, and they said it sounds amazing, and just like something from Come Dine With Me, so I'm pleased. Just hope it lives up to expectations.

Flying wise, I've not done a great deal today (food shopped and meal planned), but it has been a day of sorting out things that I'd been putting off, which is good.

Hope everyone is well (for some reason the first unread post hasn't worked, so I'll need to read back through the thread to see what I've missed). I need to be quick as I'm off to make carbonara for dinner in a minute.

Hugs to all who need or want them (especially greenbee - hope things have improved),

    sexymouse xx
