Just wanted to say a huge "Thank you" to everyone who helped me out yesterday with DD2's maths problems.
I sat down with her this morning over hot chocolate and hugs and had a wee talk about how it's better to face things you're having problems with rather than ignoring them and hoping they go away (in best MSE style) Then we took it in baby steps.
Mean Mode and Median were definitely cleared up and now seem to be rooted in her head thanks to Bytesize. Lots of praise later, she had lunch and went sledging for the rest of the day, and I know she was feeling MUCH better for it.
Tomorrow and Friday are snow days in P&K so we shall do some more over those two days, and perhaps the weekend as well. She's a determined wee sausage (12 yo) and has been placed (on entry to the school) in the top maths class, but I think she's not quite sure why she's there and was floundering a lot.
You guys have made a wee lassie (and her mum) much happier tonight.
Thank you xxxSaving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.

Christmas tree now up and stood in the corner. Rhys has been shipped out into the middle of the livingroom floor. Kids getting ready for bed and then i'll shift all the santa stuff up into the attic.

Toots she won't be moving to the new school after talking to loads of people it was thought that it would cause her even more problems, bigger school, more pupils, new teachers, new one 2 one. The other school is a 30 mile round trip with alot of back roads, whereas her school now is 5 minutes away so alot easier to get to if they had to close or even appointments. I've already told the head that i'll fight her every step of the way until things are sorted. I'm still keeping a record of all thats been going on.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -

Which is just being difficult really! P&K did this yesterday which resulted in my friend's daughter fretting all night and finally being told as she was waiting for the bus to take her the 20 miles to DS2's school (where she is on supply). It's really not on. (My daughter was told when she turned up at the papershop to do her paper round!) My sister, who is in Fife, (Son goes to Madras- she lives rurally) has already made her decision. He is just not going until things are more reliable. Mind you she does have enough on her plate with DN2 who is very disabled. It makes it impossible to plan though!
Have you got Tay FM and the Courier added on FB? (I'm sorry, I don't know if you have FB) but most of the local info I have I've managed to glean from them.Saving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.

Hello Flyladies,
I'm back from a lovely week away. I can't believe the weather though. My poor old mum has been cat sitting and hasn't left our house since last Friday! Good job we were well stocked up, and one of the neighbours has been really kind and got her a few bits.
I haven't unpacked yet, and really CBA tonight. Will start tomorrow. Not sure when Mum will be going home as the weather is too bad for travel. I'll put her to work
I hope everyone is well? I haven't a hope of catching up.
Will look at the lists tomorrow
xxYesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a gift

No progress for the lists yet.
Weather near Stansted Airport is a light flurry of snow on Tuesday followed by a freeze on Wednesday. More is promised tonight with the dreaded prospect of schools being shut. DS1's college didn't happen today so he came home. Fortunately He is old enough to look after himself as I had to go to work.
DH has a day off tomorow for us to go Christmas shopping tomorrow. We have had the mother of all rows since last Thursday and only resolved it last night. We really need some time together tomorrow but the weather appears to be conspiring against us.
Not much progress with the lists. If the school are shut tomorrow then I will tackle Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday.
I nearly got a star for Monday but have done a £250 tesco shop so no chance of me getting the list completed!
Coping vibes for all flyladies coping with adverse weather and other issues.....0 -
Thanks toots and tooch, she'll get there yet. All i can do is be there for her and keep on at the school. Only another few weeks and she'll get a good break.
2 kids in bed just waiting on DS1 and Rhys then i'll get on with moving all. Gonna go and unload and reload dw.Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough. And things go wrong no matter what I do.Now and then it seems that life is just too much. But you've got the love I need to see me through.:j :j0 -
Hugs Vanilla. Really hope you get things sorted xxxx
Tesco shop arrived...lovely, lovely delivery man. Felt really sorry for him as he arrived one minute after my slot and when i said it wasn't a problem he told me how he's had grief of everyone all day. I made him a cuppa! All food away. We had a lovely dinner with Jinky and, bless the little reindeer, he'd bought some Christmas chocolates (thank you for the delivery mr T man), and a christmas DVD so we all cosied up and watched that.
Note to self...do not spill jar of red cabbage, glass of wine or dog food all over the floor again!!!!
Hugs to all. Stay warm xx
ETA: Hex - glad the monkeys went down well. My two are 11 and 9 and they haven't actually told me they know it's me. I think they actually think that I really want them to believe in Jinky and haven't the heart to let on they know! I think it helps I didn't start him till last year so they knew straight away it was me. Hee hee! xx0
