So anyone that lives, Beds / Cambs / Suffolk,/ South Norfolk please supply me with a weather report for the main route / roads though that area.

Beds - main roads are fine, we've had no snow since Monday night, but the temp hasn't gone above -2 since then so there is ice on side roads. My OH made it back from Newcastle with no trouble yesterday.

Dusty/PenPen - I just cut a slit in them and roast them in the oven for a bit. Made some twinks too, and put in a chicken to roast for dinner.
Mudbath - monkeys have been very well received, although DS1 told me afterwards that he doesnt want to ruin it for DS2, but do I realise that is all just a story :(.

Boys and I have cleared the drive. We have a bag of rock salt but it is in the back of the landrover so scattered the last of the household stuff over it. Not wasting my nice Maldon just yet :p

    Hi everyone;

Sorry I'm so late, been having great fun (!) removing woodworking dust from all the recesses in the bedroom.

    Mazz congratulations on your engagement.
    [QUOTE=onestep;38948310
LW - how are you getting on with the varnishing?!
    [/QUOTE]
The hall cupboard and the airing cupboard doors are now finished. These are the easy ones; the other 5 will have to be drilled through to take "turning" knobs iyswim. I'm hoping Mr LW will want to do another this weekend, especially as he has Monday off on leave. However, Sunday is his birthday, so we shall have to see.;)

Due to space constraints, we are doing one door from start to finish before commencing anything on the next; basically, he measures it, planes it to size and cuts the bit for the knob, sands it, then I varnish one side + the edges, we let it dry, flip it over, I varnish the 2nd side, let that dry, and he hangs it. Seemples!:D:D:D:D:D

Also, after this weekend, we'll have a hiatus til the New Year as I have dogs staying, and noisy machine tools and sticky varnish + 4-leggeds in a very small space is not a good mix.:D

It's OK, we'll just store the remaining doors in the spare room til we can do them, and I'll flutter round them as best I can.

It'll all be done eventually - at least that's what I keep telling myself!:D

    Today's progress:
    Wednesday ~ Bedroom, Landing..
    Level one
Declutter the floor of clothing and mess and shoes and everything else!
    All decluttered:D
Strip bedding and replace with clean Done Saturday as always
    Level two
Vacuum floors in bedroom and on the landing Done by Mr LW
Dust and deweb.. don't forget to do the lightshade Done(Shhh – don't tell Toots I had to stand on the bed to do the lightshade, or she'll tell me off again).
Polish windows and mirrors and any other glass/mirror Done
    Level Three
Fill a binbag of stuff to leave the house.. be it rubbish or clothing or bedding.. Done Monday night (bin/recycling day is Tuesday and we had a load of gibble from the woodworking project)
Sort out old makeup and toiletries.. think of all those germies breeding on the lip gloss you've not worn since last summer.. All sorted and tidy
Have you written christmas cards yet??? Go finish them off! We only have a few Solstice cards to do, which Mr LW will do at the weekend (I do NOT do the writing of cards – we want people to be able to read what's written in them).
    Extras

    1. Catch up on emails/calls etc All up to date
    2. Dust behind radiators.. sock on a stick! Done
    3. Pile up the hotspots, or at least some of them and deal with it all No hotspots here!
    4. Check you have wrapping paper, sellotape etc.. and other wrapping requirements.. and don't forget ADVENT CALENDARS!!!!!!!!!!!!! N/A
ALL DONE, at least all I'm able to do.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

Wardrobes just about finished. HAve done levels one and two still want to tackle the rest and my own extras but have realised that I have a meeting this evening once kids are in bed which could go on late. Not sure how much more I'll realistically get done today but house is looking much better thank it was 48 hours ago!
May have to roll some bits over to tomorrow which will mean a late one as we're out all day.

Right have been out all day, just got back in need to crack on this evening as want to finish Monday and Tuesday's lists, do 1/2 hour of ironing to get on track with the New Year challenge and have about a million other things to get done too, including all my dailies which got ignored this morning as left first thing.
It's going to be a late one think I'm going to need some coffee as I've been up since 4.30am:eek: (have an 18 month old who doesn't much like sleeping!).

Thanks guys, it was a long day yesterday. Left the house at 6.15, we got to our destination in 4 hours. The funeral was a lovely send off for the family, had my bottom lip going! We got back ok too but I was working last night too, out on parade in the snow/blizzards in Edinburgh! I finally got home at midnight.

For those of you in the counties north of mine, your councils seem to be doing a good job. We didn't have any problems on the M90, or roads around Dundee and Aberdeen. Once you get back into Fife the problems start. They are only gritting the main routes as there aren't many buses running, none here. If you are venturing out reconsider coming south of Kinross, from there it is rubbish. The forth road bridge was shut this morning, I think our bus might have been one of the last vehiclesto get over last night.
Glad you got up and back OK, I was thinking about you. I presume it was the brother and sister funeral you were up for - it was in the paper this morning.
We did have problems round about Stonehaven, but it seems to have moved south.

    hi everyone

bit down in the dumps today - DH was planning to come home midweek, and I think that really it's not safe, and I'd rather he kept safe even though I'd love him to come home for the evening. Does that make any sense?! He's in Aylesbury, so that means a journey through Oxfordshire/Gloucestershire - anyone know what the weather is doing there? It's been snowing on and off with temps below freezing all day here. We're supposed to be going to St Albans for the w/e.. can't see that happening if the weather continues. Just plain daft to travel that far unless it's an emergency (and it's only MIL's birthday ;):o:D)

So tonight it'll be cracking on with lists, and sorting out all the presents I bought today ( at the number of vouchers) and trying hard to forget that it's the right TOTM for DH to be home..:o (sorry if TMI!)

Hope everyone else is keeping warm

Yes, wasn't sure if it would have been reported or not. Such a sad story, he had been married for 10 days and she was due to be married in February
