Greenbee~~you would be IMO very silly to set out for Wales tomorrw, you are grounded. Listening to the News the trains in parts of the country are going no where, the roads are still back.

I have a trip to Norfolk planned for Saturday, step mother has been on the phone fussing, (but she does care) seems they have very little snow but a biting very cold North sea wind blowing in, so I am going to sort on on Saturday monring if I go or not, Sm did offer to buy a wreath and put it on my mother's grave if I don't go, which is gracious of her, as she pointed out she didn't want more graves yet in that Church yard to vist, normally I would be stubborn and go no matter what, but I must be getting old as common sense is coming to me!

So anyone that lives, Beds / Cambs / Suffolk,/ South Norfolk please supply me with a weather report for the main route / roads though that area.
Just spoken to my dad and apparently the wind of the North Sea is stopping the snow, and the temp hasn't been below freezing - should apply to where you're going too :)

That was very sweet of him... particularly checking that you were aware it was all a story :D

The gloss which is safe to do while DD is still up is done. I have the bathroom door, banister rail & front door frame left to do which I'll do tonight after DD has gone to bed. ;)

Can't wash any dishes ATM as paintbrushes are soaking in turps and I haven't the energy to do too much. I'll have to do some ironing later though as DD hasn't got any uniform to wear if she's well enough to go to school tomorrow.

Lifted kids from school only to find DD crying at the door. The head asked to speak to me and she thinks that DD is to sensitive and should see someone about her emotions and build her self esteam. She stated that what dd thinks is going on with the (bullies) is all in her head. (confused smilie) Also said i should think about booking an appointment with the GP and see what they can provide, me thinks not.

Flywise not much more has been done, dinner on and then i'll hock the tree down after dinner. :D
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

We had heavy snow in Suffolk on Sun/Mon, it then melted a little so turned to slush. Since then the temperature has plummeted and we have a strong northerly wind, reasulting in ice and lots of it!
The mains roads at the moment are all fine, the minor roads and estate roads have not been gritted and are very very slippery. A14 and A140 should be fine.
They are forecasting more snow showers everyday till the weekend and temperatures of -6ºc in Suffolk for Friday night Sat early Am, staying at 0°c during the day.
    Hope thats a help.

  • ajmoney I'm glad you're back safe. I too had twigged the funeral you were going to and you were on my mind, so sad. Lovely write-up in today's Courier.
onestep That's really lovely and unselfish of you. You'll miss him, but you know he's safe hon.

I have to say Perth and kinross are doing a sterling job, at least with the main roads. Good on them for battling into work, and also to the NHS people who have struggled to work to make sure cover is available.
