JoJo - That's horrific! Imagine if it had been a parent that had done this. They would have been down on them like a ton of bricks with all the various child-care services. Try to get a decent night's sleep hon, and then go gettem in the morning.
Are they ok now? Safe back home? xSaving up £25000/£3500 by Jan 1st 2012 by selling my clutter. Remember I'm doing it for Dad.

After waiting for over an hour, she called me and said that they were going to walk back part of the way if someone could pick them up. An hour later, the picker-upper is still trapped in traffic, the girls are soaking wet, freezing and sobbing. They got taken in by the receptionist at the child health clinic, but that closed at 3.30, so they are now walking in the dark to a distant relative of one of the friends and I have to work out how to get there with no public transport. At least she could give me the address she was going to just before her phone died on her.
I am NOT having a good day.
This is a complaint to school, LEA, local paper and anyone else you feel like including! And don't forget to send a letter to chair of Governors etc - and don't be fobbed off.
Our school closed an hour early on Monday, but all school buses and taxis were rescheduled and local service buses were running fine.
Jo-jo That is serious neglect!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Pollybear - massive hugs honey...I'm so sorry to hear about your dog. I know it's the kindest thing we can do for our four leggeds but it still hurts. Lots of love xxx
Jo-Jo - that is diabolical! I am shocked! I've also used it to put a plan in with DD incase something similar happens to her. Big hugs to you both xx
Soappie - hellllllllllllllloooooooooooooooooooooooo! So good to see you, hope you're ok xxxxx
LL - hello sweetie...hugs to you and your puddies xx
Well, my DH is stuck in Scotland but he's safe and one of the other people working with him has a four wheeled drive so they're getting to site everyday and working as normal. He just won't be able to come home until things thaw a little. I've made the decision that I'm not driving again until the ice goes. Our main roads are fine but our side road is black ice. I've cancelled all after school clubs until the snow has gone. I think DD's school is preparing to close as they've text everyone to say they'll make the final decision at 7am. I really hope it closes. Don't mind DS going in as it's a two minute walk away. DD is a train away and I don't want to have to drive to get her if the trains stop. All fun isn't it (not!).
I've been working and hospicing today but have done small amounts of flying. I have a massive tesco shop coming tomorrow (weather permitting) so will spend the morning gutting the kitchen for that to arrive. It should last us until after Christmas and includes all the goodies for my parents Christmas hamper. If it doesn't come then I've enough food for a week so I'm not too worried and I'll have cleaned the kitchen anyway. Result! I can always get it delivered next week. I've added extra milk and bread to it for some elderly neighbours so at least if it does come I won't need to slip and slide to the shops for them.
Right, I'm going to s/s for a bit, do some washing and ask Stripes, in the nicest possible way, why she is whining!
Hugs to everyone xx
If the children are off tomorrow they're going to have a dvd day and I'll just tidy round them. They are shattered and full of germs and buglets!0 -
<<sigh>> DD2 in a strop because she has to go back to school tomorrow and it turns out she was banking on it being a snow day. Has homework - not done (I must put that on my FL personal list- HHHW for kids. I feel really guilty because I should have picked up on this before now, however she always seemed quite breezy about it. She's really struggling with maths, and I'm struggling to help her. She's in Scottish Secondary school 1st year. (not sure of the equivalents elsewhere in the country) Does anyone have any useful websites they can point me towards? It's angles stuff, negative numbers, that type of thing. The trouble is my maths is years out of date, and they do it differently now.
Would be really grateful. x

Sockdrawer - how old is your daugher as if she's similar age to my two I've used a few good sites as DD really struggled from year 4 (aged 8 to 9). She's now 11 and it's her favourite subject so once they find a way to understand they can do really well. She just didn't get the way it was taught at her school.0

She's a year above my DD so not sure I can help. I know bbc bitesize gives a good grounding in some aspects of maths. Our high school pays for a math website called MyMaths which each child has a password too. That explains things really well. Does your school do anything similar? Hope someone can help x0
